I’m used to flipcases and there are some available now. But I liked none. They all felt cheap. I’m using the official FP4 flipcase now on the FP5, it fits almost perfectly and is the best option I found, so far.
I know free vpns usually are not good, but right now I am not in a position to pay for a vpn. I found Privado VPN and it doesn’t keep logs and is based in Switzerland. It has a data limit for free users, but do you think its safe for torrenting?
you could look into other ways of pirating, that don’t necessarily require a vpn, instead. in may country it’s mainly problematic to use torrents, because you automatically are sharing stuff as well. IRC is something that I never had a problem with, for example. you’re only downloading and it doesn’t cost you anything. there are xdcc search engines out there. The downsides are that it’s a bit nerdy (is it a downside. though?) and you’ll mostly find current mainstream content.
How can I hide a service behind a proxy with #Apache ?
Like I have @navidrome running on standard port 4533 but I would like to Proxy it behind apache. So when I go to my website(dot)com/music I can reach it (as well with the apps so prolly websockets needs to be configured?).
well if navidrome doesn’t listen to it, then no. you can still use it on the Apache listening side: example.com/music/ redirecting to 127.0.0.1:4533 that is. Give it a try.
I’m hosting Vaultwarden, the obvious benefit is that you get all the Bitwarden features that Bitwarden has you paying extra. It’s also more lightweight and easier to setup than Bitwarden itself (although I’ve not tried it myself, so don’t take my word for it). Vaultwarden was very easy to get up and running, upgrades are easy as well, documentation is good and backups are easy to create and restore from. I’m very happy.
what’s the technical basis for this anyway? is it safe to use without a vpn (ie. is it using p2p connections). didn’t find something immediately in the docs, maybe someone can shed some light?
I’m selfhosting several services, mostly based on docker containers. Many of these are managed on Github and publish releases there. What annoys me is that I regularly miss updates....
Yeah it’s great. it works so well, it’s almost boring! :) The only thing I’m really missing is multi library support. That would make a real difference for me.
Since I regularly miss new Navidrome releases I have created a bot that automatically checks Navidrome’s github page for new releases and publishes to a Mastodon account if a new release is available....
Sure you can do that. I’m just not paying much attention to Github notifications a lot in general and my chances of noticing a post on the fediverse are higher. The bot actually uses the github atom feed for releases, so it’s a glorified feed reader, anyway :) Anyway, it’s just a tool, if you find it useful, go for it, if not that’s fine, too…

BitWarden versus VaultWarden
I’m wondering how many are self hosting and if there’s any benefits to doing so?
