ryn,

I got randomly signed out this morning, maybe this has something to do with that.

How do y'all deal with programs not supported on Linux?

I’ve been seeing all these posts about Linux lately, and looking at them, I can honestly see the appeal. I’d love having so much autonomy over the OS I use, and customize it however I like, even having so many options to choose from when it comes to distros. The only thing holding me back, however, is incompatibility issues....

ryn,

oh no I hope that’s not what’s happening with me rn bruh

ryn,

bruh saw this already on mastodon. (wait I just noticed that you linked to the same mastodon post I was talking about)

PSA - I Created a New Community for Sobriety. If You Have Any Addiction You Want to Quit, Join Us, All Are Welcome! (lemmy.ml)

I have struggled with my alcoholism for some time and finally was able to get sober. I’d like to pay it forward and decided to start /c/sobriety for ANY drug/alcohol addiction for those currently or afflicted in the past and ready to nurture and guide newcomers to sober living....

ryn,

Cool, I really love the pink gradients.

Who here uses a less popular Linux distribution? What made you choose it?

Hey fellow Linux enthusiasts! I’m curious to know if any of you use a less popular, obscure or exotic Linux distribution. What motivated you to choose that distribution over the more mainstream ones? I’d love to hear about your experiences and any unique features or benefits that drew you to your chosen distribution.

In case you're mad at yourself for closing your precious window with all the right tabs opened, note that Firefox allows to reopen recently closed windows (jlai.lu)

I generally have a “home” Firefox window with my most used tabs pinned. Sometimes I close it before another window, so I was frustrated to “lose” it and having to redo my pins. But recently I discovered this feature. Joy!

ryn,

I also like that its PDF viewer opens exactly at where I left it at.

ryn,

i remember having to manually configure CUPS to recognize my hp printer…

Is anyone using NixOS as their daily driver?

I’m currently running Arch and it’s great, but I’m noticing I’m not staying on the ball in regards to updates. I’ve been reading a bit about Nix and NixOS and thinking of trying it as my daily driver. I’ve got a Lenovo x1 xtreme laptop, I don’t do much gaming (except OSRS), use firefox, jetbrains stuff, bitwarden,...
