So trying out my custom domain to send emails to the #PHP internals list and it falls in the spam folder in GMail, which is confusing :|

Anyway, new RFC: https://wiki.php.net/rfc/http-last-response-headers

@Girgias I was in the same situation before. Improved by adding the mailing list distribution server IP to DNS spf.

@herndlm Happy new year! I am surprised to hear that you spend New Year's in Japan.

I'm currently making osechi!

@herndlm As far as I know, there will be a conference in Hokkaido on January 12th and 13th. There may not be any events held near Nagoya this month.

I’m finally feeling better after my earlier low this week, & I’m beginning to accept that my next job probably won’t involve .

Before you tell me how good other languages or communities are, understand that I considered my interactions with the PHP community as a second, unpaid role, which I thoroughly enjoyed in an entrepreneurial sort of way. That’s why this is difficult for me.

I would love to find an employer who sees value in that side of me, but I don’t think that’s going to happen.

@ramsey Realistically, unless the project is small, having tasks on the full stack can be risky and costly.

However, it may be important you can have tasks on the full stack if you feel like it.

@ramsey Thank you! 64603 and 74536.

I implemented these with the following pull requests.

Due to my landlord's circumstances, I have to move out by the next June.

When looking for a new home, the most important thing to prioritize is internet speed. I'm planning to bring my laptop and check the number of Wi-Fi access points.

Speed reductions due to radio wave interference are very serious in residential areas. In my current house, I can detect about 60 access points in the 2.4GHz band!

@derickr 38Mbps with wired connection...sounds like a very harsh environment. Aren't smartphones unable to communicate in such places?

It was difficult to connect to different DBs each time, so I created a cli interaction tool using pdo.

It's still under development, I can't even call it an alpha version yet.

@Girgias Thank you! There are so many more types than I thought. This...I'm really confused as to which one to choose!

(edit)
I see, there may actually only be two types available for purchase right now.

I'm worried that I'm putting too much of a burden on Gina with reviews...

saki,
@saki@phpc.social avatar

@Girgias Thank you, I was worried that the time it took to review was cutting into time for your own tasks.

Learning new things for the reviewing is truly remarkable. It's been a great help for me you pay close attention to the details when your reviewing! 🙌

Tiny rant, I really don't see why we do RCs at this point.

I introduced a bug in http_build_query() in January while doing some refactoring. It only got found 2h after tagging PHP 8.3.0. Probably as the user attempted to use 8.3.0 on their code base.

The fix is trivial, but it will only land in 8.3.1, which in theory should be in one month, but usually due to Xmas is delayed to January.

So yeah, what is the point of us having a 6 months alpha/beta/RC phase if nobody tries them.

saki,
@saki@phpc.social avatar

@ramsey @Girgias It is true that testing is important, but many of the existing tests are inadequate. It's not that the number of tests itself is small, but rather that the number of assumed cases is small.

I often see tests that cover instructions but not conditions.

However, preparing tests for something as large as PHP is a very expensive task, so I'm wondering if there is an easier way.

saki,
@saki@phpc.social avatar

@Girgias @ramsey I think so. I feel that "user beta testing" is given too much importance due to insufficient test code.
