Recently, improving my performance on BCMath has become a part of my daily routine.

I am now the release manager (rookie) for php8.4. 8.4 is going to be the version I'm most attached to. 🎉

I made a rough comparison of the speed of the DI container I am developing with Laravel's DI container.

It was about 10 times faster. It took about twice as long as the normal new Class().

I'm creating a DI container extension. It's too experimental to be bundled with PHP itself, so I'm thinking of releasing it with PECL or PIE.

@ramsey

What kind of work does this do?

ian,
@ian@phpc.social avatar

@ramsey @saki but yes, "the system is sick, nudge some leverage to make it not sick" on restarts/queue management is the implementation level of what's currently lacking when I'm asleep or AFK.

Sorry for the late reply.

I understand, based on that, it seems like someone with server knowledge would be the right fit for the job.
I thought I might be able to help out since my time zone(UTC+9) is probably pretty rare here, but if there's someone else who's more qualified, that would be better. I do have some knowledge about servers, but I probably can't compete with the experts.

Moving was incredibly tiring. And there are so many cardboard boxes that there is no place to even sit!

@saki Sit on the cardboard boxes? 😇

Does "OK" not give a very good impression? Does "I got it" make a better impression?

Japanese people tend to use "OK" in a very positive way, so I may have to be careful when using it.

saki,
@saki@phpc.social avatar

@derickr @saki @edorian Indeed, it can be difficult when the same English words have different meanings...

saki,
@saki@phpc.social avatar

@ramsey @saki @edorian "sounds good" is also good.

When studying English, I often come across articles from Japanese that say "OK is not very good." So I was worried that I might be making someone uncomfortable without knowing it.

So far, no one has pointed this out to me, and I was told that it doesn't matter depending on the context, so I feel a little relieved.

Happy new year! (UTC+9)

herndlm,
@herndlm@phpc.social avatar

@saki thx, but yeah, I won't be in Hokkaido. That's fine though, I didn't plan anything in that regard. The only non-family thing I'm trying to do is attending an alternative concert somewhere at a small venue in Tokyo 😊

saki,
@saki@phpc.social avatar

@herndlm Yeah, Hokkaido is too far away :)
Enjoy the New Year!

Due to my landlord's circumstances, I have to move out by the next June.

When looking for a new home, the most important thing to prioritize is internet speed. I'm planning to bring my laptop and check the number of Wi-Fi access points.

Speed reductions due to radio wave interference are very serious in residential areas. In my current house, I can detect about 60 access points in the 2.4GHz band!

saki,
@saki@phpc.social avatar

@derickr 38Mbps with wired connection...sounds like a very harsh environment. Aren't smartphones unable to communicate in such places?

derickr,
@derickr@phpc.social avatar

@saki I get 4G in my place if I'm lucky... Mostly not. Fiber is in the neighbourhood, but not in my building. 1890's big brick building.

It was difficult to connect to different DBs each time, so I created a cli interaction tool using pdo.

It's still under development, I can't even call it an alpha version yet.

@Girgias Thank you! There are so many more types than I thought. This...I'm really confused as to which one to choose!

(edit)
I see, there may actually only be two types available for purchase right now.
