I'm hosting my own email server, and using gmail as a client, so POPing email into my gmail.com address from my own personal domain and personal server.
@n@EposVox To be clear, I don’t like HD content cropped to 4x3. “Full screen DVDs” were the worst.
But we used to film everything in 4x3 for YouTube. And the nostalgia is delicious. (I’d link examples, but when Linux Journal was purchased they deleted the YouTube channel… sigh)
@ivory With iOS 17, I can't seem to attach a photo to a toot. Is this an error with my phone, or a problem with Ivory? (FWIW, Bluesky doesn't work either, and Instagram didn't work until I upgraded to their release from today)
@ivory I did check all those settings. I'll try removing Ivory and reinstalling it. Maybe some data got corrupted during the upgrade to iOS 17… will report back.
@ivory Sadly, that didn't help. Something got b0rked with my photo library apparently. Odd it's only with some apps though. Twitter/Threads/Insta work. Bluesky & Ivory don’t.
@geerlingguy@lightweight When people ask me that (during podcasts, livestreams, etc) — I generally guess they’ll federate, but include ads injected into OUR streams if we follow Threads users. It would be simple, and nefarious.
It’s honestly amazing how, as I’ve aged, I’ve gone from pirating out of necessity/rebellion to trying to not pirate unless I absolutely had to, to thinking it’s the only ethical answer. :/
@EposVox Same. I now subscribe to services, but then rip/download copies and archive them locally to actually watch. Same with Audible. They do things like get a new narrator and remove the original. (The Martian, for example.)
So I “pirate” things I’m legitimately paying for. The world got weird.
I haven’t gotten around to watching Crater yet. Thankfully, I snagged a copy. Sigh.
I feel like AI bots would be great at writing syntax-heavy metadata files like yaml for Kubernetes - anyone tried put "writing valid yaml config files in plain English" yet?
