@ednl@niclas Yeah; that's in my rack room, but just added another one this week to my workbench, and have another couple to hang around where I may need them!
Not asking for rec's right now, but man... there are like 13 different decent open source SDR GUIs/web UIs out there. Only used Gqrx and CubicSDR but will probably be testing a bunch soon.
My Dad uses SDR# I think, I have a list now to try :P
What's the best multi-chat app thing now? For multistreaming. And can it run on RPi?
I want a RPi setup that shows real giant chat (no typing boxes like Popout chat, just the chat) and let's me show alerts overtop
Raspberry Pi just launched a Connect, a new VNC service that works with Pi OS 12 and Wayland and lets you access your Pis from any browser via a web UI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgbTNZD1Vcw
As a proud member of the open source community since 1995, as being part of the OSS revolution as a #RedHat, #Canonical and #SuSE employee, with regrets I have to admit @geerlingguy is not totally wrong:
Hey @geerlingguy I have been going through your ansible playlist on youtube and it's been really helpful for a new work thing I've been doing. I just ordered your book.
Now I've been looking for your video "There's a role for that" and can't find it anywhere. Do you have an updated link for that?
The Pico microcontroller from #RaspberryPi is pretty great because it's cheap, available, has two cores and PIO functionality, and last but not least because of the comprehensive documentation. Everything is collected here: https://datasheets.raspberrypi.com (search for "pico" on the page, see screenshot).
@Ertain Yeah power for bigger 3.5" drives is always the annoying part :(
I would like to see a couple more options for the Pi 5 that are sized to fit bigger drives (like the Penta SATA HAT, but for larger drives, and you could buy a cheap acrylic case for the setup... or even a cheap NAS case from AliExpress or something and insert the board as a true backplane.
@cloud_manul It could happen! I think we're getting there.
There's a strange convergence where Intel keeps pushing lower wattage (but not quite Arm efficiency level yet), and Arm keeps pushing higher performance (while mostly maintaining efficiency).
To the point I hope things can settle on an SBC that costs $50 or less, more along RK3588 performance level. To me, that's a sweet spot.
@richards the topic fits the main but there are different levels of production quality and until now I haven't had a place to post videos I know won't get "100k" level views but I still want to cover.
Also, third channel is where I can get a little wild with ideas and experiment without the main channel audience getting upset (and the algorithm punishing me for it)
