On my way to work a pickup truck driver was pulling in to park but really fast and aggressively so I was worried it would hit me and when I jumped out of the way in fear the driver laughed hysterically.

Happy National Puppy Day!

I didn’t expect this week to involve puppies but Ocean, my recently adopted dog, unexpectedly gave birth to 11 puppies this week (we had no idea she was pregnant even though she went to the vet on Tuesday).

An unexpected week of chaos and cuteness.

Much-deserved post-vet rolls.

She was such a good girl, so brave.

It’s also such a relief that she’s now fully vaccinated.

Unfortunately she didn’t have access to vet care up north due to the limited number of vets.

Very lucky to have good vet access in Ottawa!

It’s a snowy Monday morning here in #Ottawa which was a bit surprising but I guess winter isn’t over just yet. My northern dog was excited and had lots of fun rolling in the snow this morning.

I don’t understand the anger many drivers have towards people walking and biking. You’re in your comfortable living room on wheels driving around a city that is entirely designed around your convenience.

Why does people wanting to safely walk and bike places make you so angry?

It’s really hard to make eye contact with drivers as a pedestrian when most drivers are looking down at their phones.

Always lovely to catch the sunset from Riverdale Park with the Toronto skyline in the background.

Such a nice atmosphere too with everybody out enjoying the beautiful warm weather. It felt like summer.

The person next to me on the train is on the phone complaining angrily about how the person who drove them to the train station is a slow driver and had the audacity to drive 70km/h in an 80km/h zone.

I’m not a night-owl but it was so fun to catch Nuit Blanche while I was in #Montreal and enjoy wonderful performances, exhibitions, installations, and the atmosphere with everyone out enjoying the city at night.

#Ottawa can we please bring back Nuit Blanche?

It was devastating and powerful to see the ghost shoes memorial to Fabienne Houde-Bastien, a 31 year-old woman who was killed by a driver at Saint-Laurent Boulevard and Jean-Talon after a night out with friends.

Reckless driving has very real and devastating consequences.
