Canadian military should turn to private sector for space surveillance tech, MPs told (www.cbc.ca)

The Canadian military could have modern satellite coverage in the Arctic a decade earlier than envisioned if the federal government is willing to follow the example of other countries and embrace commercial options in space, a House of Commons committee heard Monday....

spyd4r,

I think a private company with a controlling stake from a certain country would be best. /s

spyd4r,

Do you know how many problems teachers have with cellphones in the call rooms? Kids are just texting each other and are distracted in class. The teachers cannot take them away anymore and kids just react out if told to do something. It’s a gong show, at least teachers have a way to enforce this now. It doesn’t affect their use out of class just during class. And it’s still up to teachers discretion to allow it in class at times.

spyd4r,

Lol cellphones and pagers were for drug dealers! /s

spyd4r,

Why would they not use an electric pressure washer?

Geocaching. Like come on.

spyd4r,

$10 a month or $50 a year in Canada. Aren’t all the caches community created? Where does the $50 a year go?

spyd4r,

Blame corporations for applying obscene amounts of salts to prevent liability issues. The place I used to work at would put down so much everyday it was like walking on rocks. The entire sidewalk and parking lot.

spyd4r,

Exactly.

spyd4r,

The fact dollarama has 2000 people show up to interview for 2 openings tells me this isn’t sustainable.

spyd4r,

I’ve seen it 2 or 3 times myself in my own town. I can only imagine it’s everywhere.

spyd4r,

All I want is Lightroom classic for photo organization and I have to subscribe. Like come on.

spyd4r,

Aren’t most municipal governments blocking new housing developments?

spyd4r,

“underused 407”. Well, how do you fix that when it’s privately run and the most expensive rolled highway in the world. Lol

Building more isn't enough to lower home prices (www.theglobeandmail.com)

The guy who runs Generation Squeeze says building more homes isn’t enough to lower prices, because most people buying houses are already property owners. Property owners can either sell their current house to get a load of cash, or borrow against it to get a load of cash. Either way, they can pay a lot for their next property....

spyd4r,

Ban non-primary use home ownership. Or make the taxes so high it’s not worthwhile.

spyd4r,

Better tax the middle class to give out this benefit. /s
