I have downloaded firefox-xxx.tar.bz2 from the official site and extracted it to separate directories named firefox1, firefox2 etc. I launch Firefox using the script...
But when I check the about:profile, it indicates the root directory not as my main one. Like if my main ff is in /home/user/.mozilla then my instance’s root directory is showing /home/user/firefox1/.mozilla.

For me its honestly a ton of my work software (digital forensics), shit is too niche to be replaced by good FOSS options. Cellebrite, Magnet Axiom, etc. Autopsy is great and free and has a linux version but it simply cannot get the same level of data without a pretty nutty level of custom code....
I get the idea of instances, like you can make your own and this is good for privacy. But some lemmy instances are much more popular and this in fact makes it another Reddit. If there are separate instances for niche topics, why not make it another community inside a larger instance?

If there is a movie that you like, you can use some services like bestsimilar.com to get similar movies and also if you are searching for a particular niche topic you can use IMDB’s advanced search function or the bestsimilar’s search function.
