🐈 drew a death animation of sylvie slowly melting and dying and releasing spores into the air as she dissolves, most would lose their minds if they had to create something this twisted, but it's rather easy for me.
After finally getting to play through the game after so many years it feels like the end of an era for me.
Before NEURODIVER I hadn't made any games and now I can stand as an indie dev alongside them.
To me the world of ROM just feels like an aspirational thing.
I'm a pessimist and sometimes it's nice to be able to imagine a world where like being queer is just accepted, progress moves on and now we're all becoming literal furries and robots.
Even if it takes years for ROM3 I want for there to be a rom game on my wishlist because even if it's in a small way, I want to have a part of the future I can look forward to and feel excited about.
@alienmelon Hi, I am currently working on an adult game that uses trivia as it's primary mechanic.
In order to boost queer devs I want to have a category of "queer games trivia" because my hope is that it'll force players to look up queer indies so that they can "win".
By doing this I hope they will find a new dev that they like or at least make them more familiar with the scene.
I do not want to make anyone uncomfortable by featuring their works in an adult game.
@alienmelon Thank you so much. EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OKAY is still one of my top games of all time.
But anyways, I can totally write a trivia question for your games no problem but you've had a long career.
If any have any specifically cool trivia you want to highlight I can do that otherwise I'm probably going to do something about EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OKAY.
After HFTGOOM a portion of my players came from people who were looking to blow their loads and ended up getting their minds blown instead.
I want to make a game that caters to that by seeing if I can get people to learn about stuff in an adult game.
My hope is that players will "cheat" the trivia by looking it up and then walk away knowing more about topics I find important in the world like queer games.
For most topics I don't need permission but for queer artists I don't want to include them freely since it could upset them if they found it after the fact.
@curiouscat Oh hey, this is good. I can try to do a trivia question for you.
I do not know much about your body of work other than seeing your barbie game. If you have any neat facts or bio or stuff to help me write a question I would appreciate it.
The goal of the question is mostly to inspire players to look you up afterward and should be something they can find with googling if need be.
i'm overall okay, but i've been having a tough time lately. the kind of thing where you look back and are like "oh yeah okay. i've been struggling to do things, sleeping poorly, etc." and the thing with the admin over the weekend exacerbated it all so i'm having a Struggle One today. just trying to relax, while also being . . . so tired i can't sleep. i love my large adult human body. also trying to get more steps intentionally and throughout the day. if you're having a hard day, i see you.
Context: I'm working on a dating sim but I've got hardcore writers block. I am hoping to get a kind of vibe of what people are into so I can make a good partner for the game.
Right now my dating sim partner is a clingy whiny insecure baby.
@antipater That sort of man sounds really really cool. The quest for knowledge is a tough path to walk. Staying kind while walking that path can be hard so that sounds like a good partner.
