The first time I ever played Tomb Raider was on my bondi blue G3 iMac.

I never played the console versions.

Now I realize Macs, by that time, weren't gaming powerhouses. But Tomb Raider ran great, and left a big impression on me.

@atomicpoet I believe a lot of the old games were made differently and were maybe more rich or unique experiences. Debatable ofc.

However what I want to point out more is that new games are coming out so fast and because of that availability, other new unique or rich experiences might be more prone to be left aside and never seen as such, because the time spent playing a game or waiting for a new one or getting captured by a new one is far less than before. Not complaining thought.

just thinking about the fact that back then you were getting titles less often and it was harder to acquire games, so many more times you were sort of constrained to play a game more or in a deeper way.

kept working on the rainmeter/ahk/console section of my right monitor. namely i prettied up the switcher button icons, blending them into the background skin, also switched the console being used from cmd to powershell 7, and put powershell into focus mode to use tabs while not showing the tab bar.

A video showing the described. Behind all this is a pink/black rectangle with opacity to show a purpley valley scene behind.

So a coworker of mine recently brought a calculator to work (we do have to make sure some numbers actually add up sometimes; I just use the nearest browser's console for that because IEEE floats are good enough for this) and now she's got a TI-30X II S on her desk but somehow it bothers my nerd pride that I don't have a nerdy calculator on my desk now.

@dwarf @rq doesn't need a screen, get a DTMF keypad and call your home to do the calculations on custom made answering machine software to speak the result of said calculations
