I am curious if the "announcment" feature Mastodon admins have access to is actually useful.

I suspect many people never see them. I think I've only ever seen it displayed in the "official" mastodon web UI. And never in any of the (many) apps I use.

@mattwilcox On my laptop I use tuba and I see announcements there, on my phone I use the mastodon app and I haven’t seen an announcement there yet but I only started using mastodon recently and it may just be chance

@stux as long as it’s actually useful, it’s on-device and isn’t trained on scraped data from the internet I don’t mind AI on my phone
