I grew up in #Canada, but it just didn't work out. I've been in the #Netherlands since 2018, and sometime in 2024, we plan to apply for citizenship.

Maybe we know each other from #LiveJournal some #Vancouver or #Toronto events. I've done #Music #Journalism, #Photography and #FineArts and accidentally "fell into" #IT, and then further into Financial IT.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of a very simple web page with large font that just says:

I'm not interested in working with crypto. At all. Not even your amazing new blockchain solution that just needs a problem to solve.

I'm not interested in working for funky startups with no path to profit that and the only money comes from dancing for VCs.

I don't want on call shifts.

I will not write your tree-walking test code in the language I TOLD YOU I DON'T REALLY KNOW.

Gen Con needs a server upgrade, good grief. It’s taken an hour and a half for me to move 1700 places in the ticket line. They have 75,000 attendees.

@hacks4pancakes sounds like a similar attendance to - thankfully the event ticket for Atlanta is mostly painless. HOTELS, though sound similarly far away from fun to book.

@ramsey @hacks4pancakes yeah, i had a legacy hotel for some time, but took a year off to move overseas. I'm not as concerned with being in a Con Hotel anymore, so it still works out okay.
