My advice one month in, taking Ozempic (aka wegovy) for weight loss. This drug could make sense for you if:

  1. Your weight keeps you from doing activities you want to do.
  2. You are open to talking an injection once a week for the rest of your life (or until you can be active enough to balance calories with your hunger level)
  3. The main reason you can’t stick to a diet is because you are just … hungry. You don’t ever eat for other reasons or feel overly full after eating.

I recently listened to a podcast that interviewed Andrea Wachter. She made a point that will always stick with me. Namely, she said that, if you've been trying diets for decades and they haven't worked, maybe the problem isn't you. Maybe it's the diets.

The more I read about metabolism and weight loss, the more I think this is true. It's not us. It's how the modern world affects our brains. And, clearly, diets aren't the answer. Or at least no the only answer.

My go-to is Motion. Or at least it's my go-to when my life is especially hectic. It combines to-do lists with automatic time blocking. It also comes with a handy scheduling calendar for people to make appointments with you.
