It's been almost three years already, and I STILL haven't fully figured out my sexuality!!

There are some people on the Fediverse who are clearly Big People on Twitter but have just shifted themselves wholesale here, which is fine, but they still have that… How do I explain it? That kind of “blue tick” condescension?
There’s a few accounts in the cybersec space (but not exclusively these types) that have this kind of “looking down at you” vibes because they were a Big Voice on the Fowl Place but despite a change of scenery, they still keep the gruff, standoffish, and otherwise nuevo-riche attitude.
@sarayalth lol, I didn’t use Twitter all that much, the only people I followed on Twitter were people I already knew… So I had like… Five followers? I never used it for social, I just used it to Know Things
I finally finished Tomb Raider (2013). What an incredible game. Despite being over a decade old, the game still looks amazing. The environment design, the lighting, the weather effects make for an awe-inspiring, dramatic experience.
The characters in the game have a very believable, grounded, and sympathetic portrayal, and Lara Croft goes through some incredible character development throughout the game. I do find it actually very cool that by the middle of the game, the militia on the island start to get terrified of you.
This has to be one of my favourite games, it just is a very satisfying and engaging story, with just the right amount of everything. The second and third games tried to be more expansive, but they don’t feel the same as this game IMHO.
More games just need to be like this: immersive, crafted, and executed well in scope.
@astrid the word “liberal” does a lot of heavy lifting
It means “social liberal” as is the case with the Liberal Democrats in the UK, which in the USA you would call “progressive”
And “economically liberal” as is the case with the LDP in Japan
The first is linked to early-20th century ideas about social justice and the use of The State to maximise personal liberty and social liberty (ie nobody should be hungry, homeless, etc)
The second kind is linked to classical liberalism, but now neoliberalism which would essentially maximise the amount of freedom given to the economy in the belief that this would increase freedoms overall (ie “the freer the markets, the freer the people”)
