This is the nature of Reddit. There's potential conflict from any mod who has seniority over you, as well as the top level admins. When we hear stories of this, we need to be able to definitively qualify whether it was just a higher level mod, or actually a Reddit admin. Two entirely different things.
I am a mod of multiple subreddits with large amounts of users. In some cases we may stay dark; in others we may go online - we let the community decide in each case.
HOWEVER... those that go online will NOT BE THE SAME. We never focused any of our discussion on whether the mothership was evil. Now that's likely to happen. No matter how narrow the topic of a subreddit is, there are now some additional relevant topics to discuss including:
Other social media communities we need to extend the brand/community to
Our ongoing, dissatisfaction with the owners of Reddit and how they disrespect the community that gave them all their value
Apparently there's some sort of fix in the pipeline related to this, but at the very least, I'd like to be able to type kbin.social/m/kbinmeta and be redirected to kbin.social/m/kbinMeta
Hostnames are case insensitive. E-mail addresses are case insensitive.
But paths and filenames definitely are case-sensitive in Unix (although not in Windows). Any deviation from this is implemented on the application side.
In applications, you should avoid using case-sensitive URLs unless it's for specific things like encrypted data/hashes.
That's not a downside. That's an upside. It gives people more control. Of course, people who don't know how to write user-friendly apps can bungle that control.
The biggest problem with kbin is honestly quite simple, but I don't people is talking about is the fact that finding the magazines that I'm subscribed to is in Settings > Subscribed, on Reddit, it's literally in the top bar, I don't get why it's buried in settings. Another thing is why is my home page full of posts from...

I was initially introduced to Mastodon a few years ago by a close friend and picked up on it quickly given the benefits of not having to deal with advertising, or being shown what a mega-corporation thought I should have to see through algorithms. I have since found a great instance over on cupoftea.social that promotes quality...
If brands were brutally honest. What brand would have what slogan?
Just wondering...
Mod of /r/tumblr removed during blackout (famichiki.jp)
Copy of text:...
A lot subreddits end their blackout tomorrow. Will you go back to Reddit, or continue with kbin and the Fediverse?
I haven't used Reddit at all since the blackout began. Even if they change course, the Fediverse is growing on me, and I think I'll stay here....
I don't know if it's possible to change now, but magazines being case-sensitive seems like a recipe for disaster
