I once took a trip to eastern Europe (multiple locations) which took me about half way across the world from where I'm at. I think I'd have been closer to home if I went any further east or west at that point.
A little over 6000km, from Australia to Singapore. I enjoyed the experience. I went for a conference and stayed an extra day for sightseeing. My favourite part was probably relaxing on the beach after I was done with the conference. I also liked the monorail. Overall I felt safe exploring, even at night.
The world can be a pretty strange place, but it's good to look back and find at least one thing that was good to you today. Be that a nice conversation, a cool picture you saw, a song you heard... whatever! But if you didn't find anything good today, here's your sign: go do one thing for you, right now. Even if its just a moment...
I'm working on a self-portrait, which is in an early, quite ugly stage. My partner looked at it and said that it does kind of look like me, just a stylised version.
I was running to get my train. For a reason i still can't explain, in the station entrance hatch, i turned right instead of continue right and hit the glass with my face. I have now a scar near the eyebrow.
I have a tenuous relationship with the concept of operating a body in a world populated with physical objects in space, so there are many stupid ways I've hurt myself, but probably my favourite is the time I was paying for something in a store, I bent down slightly (or so I thought) to get money from my wallet, and I hit my head hard on the counter which was below waist height.

Hi, I'm a 39-year-old woman from Australia. I was pretty unimpressed by how Reddit handled the response to their API changes, so I'm checking this place out. Another big factor in coming over here was learning about how the API changes would impact accessibility. As someone who works in inclusive education research, accessibility is something that's important to me.
My lifelong passion is music. My main instrument is the clarinet, and I compose. I play the clarinet and the piano every day. My other hobbies include fibre arts, especially knitting, but I can crochet a little and sew badly; art, particularly coloured pencil drawing, and I got a drawing tablet early this year which I've been loving; number and word puzzles; video games sometimes; and keeping fit, which currently consists of strength workouts, swimming, walking, cycling, and sometimes running and rollerblading.
I'm autistic. I don't feel particularly negative or positive about it, it's just a thing that is. It comes with upsides and downsides just like any other neurology.
I live with my fiancé, who works as an Ubereats driver and is a hobby gardener, video gamer, tabletop gamer, all round big nerd, and The Best, My Favourite.
I'm a pretty quiet person but I'm going to make an effort to interact here to help get the community going.
Weekend mornings mostly, sometimes weekday afternoons. My weekday mornings are taken up by other forms of exercise. I'm trying to cycle more regularly as I used to do it a lot more and I miss going on long bike rides.

What's the furthest you've been from your home? What was the experience like?

OC I love the chaos at the moment
I'm feeling a real positive energy and community spirit as a result of the sudden fragmentation of reddit's foundational use base....
What's the dumbest way you hurt yourself ?
