Anyone else think that spez might be the fall guy for the board?

As more and more articles and interviews come out about spez and how he's inspired by how Musk running Twitter, I genuinely can't believe he's this stupid. Anyone else think that we could see a repeat of what happened with Ellen Pao when all the gate subreddits were banned? All of these quotes from Spez are coming out, and the...

BedSharkPal,

I didn't think Musk could be this stupid either though. I keep trying to find ways that he's playing 4D chess, but come up empty handed each time.

BedSharkPal,

Also one of the few things holding back terrifying killer drone tech!

BedSharkPal,
BedSharkPal,

That was my first guess, but the individual endpoints like say "https://kbin.social/api/magazines" just 503.

BedSharkPal,

I find the idea of anti-aging terrifying. It'll just let out of touch rich people live longer.

The saying that society progresses one funeral at a time has some truth to it IMO

BedSharkPal,

Seems to me that as soon as you sub to at least one magazine you should default to subscribed and not all. I found it confusing for a few days myself.

BedSharkPal,

Please don't draw attention to this... 🤐

BedSharkPal,

It's crazy to me what my young body would put up with. As I get older it's just getting pickier and pickier though.

Also yeah, fuck gluten.

BedSharkPal,

Reddit will be fine IMO. But there is now a real chance for the fediverse to become the non corporate alternative.

BedSharkPal,

Waking up early with my brother to play Goldeneye on the N64 was peak gaming for me.

BedSharkPal,

I've been seeing Michigan in the news for a lot of good reasons lately. Keep it up!

What's an inexpensive or low-quality item that you ended up loving and keeping for years?

I bought a lift-top coffee table from a big box store almost a decade ago. It's entirely particle board and has seen better days cosmetically, but it's probably my single favorite piece of furniture. It's immensely practical for meals, using a laptop, or just bringing your remote/drink/whatever closer to your hand when laying...

BedSharkPal,

Bidet. I can't believe I lived without one.

What Reddit Got Wrong (www.eff.org)

After weeks of burning through users’ goodwill, Reddit is facing a moderator strike and an exodus of its most important users. It’s the latest example of a social media site making a critical mistake: users aren’t there for the services, they’re there for the community. Building barriers to access...

BedSharkPal,

Yeah. I can't help but think Reddit is doing the internet a favour in the long term. The more decentralized and less corporate control the better.
Feels like we're coming full circle at this point

BedSharkPal,

Agreed, two days was never going to be long enough. The longer the blackout the more the Reddit habit will be broken.

BedSharkPal,

Yeah, it's a little too loud to be a sticky header - draws way too much attention.

BedSharkPal,

For me it's because it's become very obvious to me that social media and corporations aren't a good mix. The fediverse harkens back to the old internet, which I for one very much miss.
