The name kbin is derived from sbin in Linux (source is a comment by @ernest). Is the logo at all related to sbin? It kind of looks like a forward slash....
They've been saying aspartame is carcinogenic for decades now. If further research is needed, then why are food producers still able to use it? Seems to me like if they suspect that it's carcinogenic, that it should be restricted until they can prove it's safe for consumption.
It's rumored that Reddit is about to launch a new "creator program" that will pay Redditors for high-karma activity on the site. This change is probably meant to accommodate this new feature.
I’m firmly on the side of “water is not wet” in this debate, but it’s a question that I was asked while I was high and have no answer to it. Water cannot itself be wet because you can’t get water on water. However, what is a fish in a lake? It can’t be wet until it’s taken out of the water, but it’s not dry...
Pretty sure Elon knows this is unwinnable. Data scraping isn't illegal, unless you can prove that the scrapers intended to cause harm to Twitter in the process. He's doing this to harass whoever made him make an embarrassing mistake with the rate limits. He has a history of spending a stupid amount of money to (unsuccessfully) save face.
Next on the list, find everybody in the Reddit/Twitter comments who called this "fake" or said that Bungie was "overreacting" and link them to the court docs and demand an apology from them.
Is anyone else unable to view /m/kbinmeta/newest? It's throwing me the "We are working on resolving the issues" error. Not sure if it's related to the stability issues I've been seeing today or not. But I can view /newest in other magazines just fine, though.

I only see a handful of communities posts, but miss a lot from smaller communities that aren’t as active but do get daily posts. Reddit blended in smaller communities really well and it’s something I’m struggling with here.
I'd have to imagine that this is something that could be implemented per-instance, as well. For example, some instances could work toward a more aggressive recommendation algorithm, while others can aim for a more neutral feed. I can see the appeal to both versions, and honestly would probably keep an active account on both of those such instances, myself.
i had my profile all cute and customized and came back to see it a mess of html that wasn't being rendered anymore, even tho it previously was. anyone know why? will we no longer be able to use html in profiles anymore? ☹
Especially after the exploit that took down LemmyWorld and some other big instances just a few days ago. I'd rather lose some bells and whistles on my profile than leave possible attack vectors open.
What is the kbin logo? Just a visually appealing logo or something more?
