TIL "Big-Headed Ants" have completely altered parts of the savannah ecosystem less than 20 years (www.npr.org)

At the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a wildlife preserve in central Kenya, lions and cheetahs mingle with zebras and elephants across many miles of savannah – grasslands with "whistling thorn" acacia trees dotting the landscape here and there. Sounds like he learned a hard lesson about who to take advice from. Hopefully next time he just does everything by the book and doesn't have to be in a position where he's blaming someone else for what was his responsibility.

I'm sort of thinking about going a slightly different route and getting outside rolling shutters - the kind which are controlled by a rocker switch inside - and then putting a smart switch on those. Much more expensive but then I'd get all the benefits of metal shutters and it would hopefully be less hassle for me overall.
