Not just @x: Elon Musk also took @xAI from its original user for his AI company (mashable.com)
A pattern is emerging.
A pattern is emerging.
On the home feed (on multiple different clients including Ivory, Ice Cubes, mammoth, and the Mastodon web app) posts are injected from accounts that are not followed, nor do they include any hashtags. How are they doing this?
I’ve started seeing pornography, as in dicks and cunts within a cursory scroll of whats trending, and certainly more repeated spam for buying vitamins, or redirects to win an iphone etc....
I was wondering if there are any Mastodon clients (desktop or mobile) that support pagination like that of Lemmy. I do not like infinite scrolling, and much prefer pagination with page numbers, but I have only seen clients with infinite scrolling or a ‘load more’ button.
Or have I missed the train on this? I know services like twitodon.com were available to find users on Mastodon that an account is following on Twitter. But it looks like with the API goofiness, those services are shut down. Is there any way to do this now?
"[I] got an email basically saying they are taking it," Hwang told Mashable in an email exchange.
I mostly follow celebrities and tech people (the few that are left on Twitter). Someone tweeted about seeing too many ads on Twitter and I realised I’ve never seen one. Scrolled back through my feed and there’s just no ads. I certainly don’t pay Elon any money, so why am I not seeing ads? (I don’t want ads, just curious)

Concerns are growing over the fate of the site following a series of revisions since Elon Musk acquired it that have prompted a chorus of complaints by users and companies.
It would be interesting to see Nitter integrated in a Mastodon instance. There are some accounts in Twitter worth following in all this noise, and getting their feed natively in Mastodon would be super nice without all the ads and algorithm crap.
Does mastodon support groups or communities? like lemmy the users can make groups or communities and manage them.

I don’t think this post is anti semitic or promoting a hateful ideology, it is me expressing a known fact that Israel and its lobby groups heavily lobbying the US. Simple as that....
If I block a user should it prevent them from coming up if I’m browsing “local”? There is a user just spamming gross porn…I blocked and refreshed but posts don’t go away from the “local” feed....
For example: find everyone who wrote “journalist” in their profile description.
Twitter’s Chief Executive, Elon Musk, said that the microblogging site recorded a 3.5% increase in active usage in the last week.
That’s pretty much what I had tried to use twitter for when it wasn’t giving me political bullshit on my feed.
Hello folks,...
OK, this has started to bother me enough to ask about it:...
Every day, they seem to be pretty much the exact same....
Has anybody else had issues with Mastodon and desktop webpush notifications? I have them enabled on my PC’s web browser, Firefox. I made certain to allow notifications. Yet, I don’t get any. I read somewhere that regenerating the vapid key pair can fix the problem so I did this but still nothing. I welcome any ideas.
