mstdn.ca is heavily censoring posts critical of Israel, be aware

I don’t think this post is anti semitic or promoting a hateful ideology, it is me expressing a known fact that Israel and its lobby groups heavily lobbying the US. Simple as that.

My account was just suspended, I highly recommend anyone who has this viewpoint to simply not express it here. The fediverse and Mastodon and Lemmy are all a sham.

Really disappointed to be honest. I was hoping I could post my opinion and not have the left wing brigade show up to censor me or “educate” me. Fuck censorship and fuck Israel.

UPDATED: net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED when I try to appeal on mstdn.ca…lol talk about spiteful. Must be a Montreal server. Big Jewish population in Montreal. Makes sense…added their API to my blokada Blocklist.

sbv,

Someone is paying the USAs debt, and we all know who it is.

I think you found your reason.

  • Andrzej,

So I'm going to be very charitable here and say that the main problem is that your analysis is eye-wateringly dumb, which has made you accidentally invoke an antisemitic trope.

The state of Israel is awful in so many ways, and there are lots of contentious things you can day about it — it's an ethno-state operating a defacto apartheid system, for example — without resorting to facile shit about Jewish money lenders

    S0berage, (edited )

Analysis of what, be specific. Money lenders? No, defence contracts that US and Israel both want to go off without a hitch and both economic countries rely on. FACT. Not facile shit. Grow up and stop acting so pretentious. What you you mean by the below, not familiar with this reference to ‘day’?:

There are lots of contentious things you can day about it

To elaborate," The U.S.-Israeli bilateral economic and commercial relationship is strong, anchored by two-way trade in goods and services that reached USD 45.1 billion in 2021, according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, and extensive commercial ties, particularly in high-tech and R&D. The total stock of Israeli foreign direct investment (FDI) in the United States was USD 40.4 billion in 2020. Since the signing of the U.S.-Israel Free Trade Agreement in 1985, the Israeli economy has undergone a dramatic transformation, moving from a protected, low-end manufacturing and agriculture-led economy to one that is diverse, mostly open, and led by a cutting-edge high-tech sector.

The Israeli government generally continues to take slow, deliberate actions to remove trade barriers and encourage capital investment, including foreign investment. The continued existence of trade barriers and monopolies, however, have contributed significantly to the high cost of living and the lack of competition in key sectors. The Israeli government maintains some protective trade policies."

    Source: www.state.gov/reports/…/israel/#:~:text=The total….

    For Canada:

“Since the original CIFTA entered into force in 1997, two-way merchandise trade has more than tripled, totalling more than $1.6 billion in 2020. Canadian direct investment in Israel reached $515 million and Israeli direct investment in Canada reached $617 million in 2020.

A key element of the commercial relationship is collaboration in science, technology and innovation (STI). Bilateral STI relations are strong, developed through more than 20 years of close collaboration. The Government of Canada has partnered with Israel to support joint research, development and commercialization projects. The governments of Ontario and Quebec have also established programs to support companies and researchers pursuing partnerships with Israel.”

    Probably

    CookieJarObserver,

Its pretty obvious that they see that as nazi propaganda…

Jews have money and bribe politicians was one of their points…

Also Israel is based. A country where i can have a religion of my choice and can be gay without being killed… Get a life.

Oh and thats not a left/right problem.

I’ve seen a shit load of leftists hating Israel.

    S0berage,

Spare me your political views, it wasn’t promoting any anti gay or anti religion, that’s my point to this post. Mstdn.ca cannot moderate impartially. Full stop. I don’t care about your views on Israel and how free it is, I live in the 5th most free country, well above Israel with a VERY large population of Jews that can discuss Zionism with behaving like a toddler throwing a tantrum.

    CookieJarObserver,

How was your shitty post arguing about Zionism and not just saying “Jews manipulate our politicians”? Cause the later is what everyone else read.

    GrimSheeper, (edited )

The idea that Israeli lobbyists are singlehandedly “paying off the US’ debt” is so patently absurd that I can easily see someone interpreting it as anti-semetic. Criticizing pro-Israel lobbyists is one thing, but when you start implying that Israeli lobbyists literally control the US government, I think you’re stepping into clearly anti-semetic territory.

That alongside the wink-wink nudge-nudge “we all know who it is” comment really pushes this post over the edge. You’re clearly parroting anti-semetic tropes, intentional or not.

    S0berage, (edited )

Not single-handedly, but they are enormous trading partners and lobby the US in the billions, that’s not far-fetched. B’nai Brith is a perfect example. I have Jewish friends that can discuss this issue more rationally than you, Zionist goof B’nai Brith even sues rabbis for being critical of Palestinians rights and IDF conduct:

    mondoweiss.net/…/israel-lobby-group-bnai-brith-is…

    GrimSheeper,

Well, that nuance is not present in your original post. Criticism of Israel and Israeli lobbying groups is perfectly fine, so long as you’re specific in your criticisms and you avoid hyperbole and generalizations.

Your original phrasing is ambiguous and hyperbolic in a way that you could easily be referring to EITHER specific issues with certain Israeli lobbyist groups OR broad conspiracies about Jewish control of the US government. This same ambiguity is regularly used by anti-semites to disguise anti-semetic rhetoric as good faith criticism of the Israeli government.

You may have had the best of intentions, but this post reads like Nazi concern-trolling, and I’m not surprised that it got censored.

but this post reads like Nazi concern-trolling

The groyper pfp may not be helping either.

    GrimSheeper,

Oh, absolutely. I was gonna mention that, but I knew he’d just whine about people judging him for his profile pic instead of his words or something like that.

    S0berage,

Ugh. On irc I was NEVER banned and could speak freely. Fediverse is an imposter of a platform. Social media is a cancer and I’m tired of the left wing rainbow/Zionist concern troll brigades.

    housepanther,

Also OP, you might want to look into running your own Mastodon instance. It’s going to present a challenge if you don’t have a technical background but you learn a whole lot. The only real way to beat censorship is by being your own service provider. I have some very strong opinions (none that are hate-based but can be controversial) so I don’t want to be at the mercy of some random sysadmins inability to see things objectively.

    S0berage,

I’m done with social media after this. I’m going to read the newspaper and use telegram with my friends who aren’t thin-skinned pussies like some of the Zionist goofs on this thread and mastodon. I’m banned from every social media platform except irc and Lemmy. I HATE censorship. I will intentionally break the rules to piss off jannies.

    housepanther,

The newspaper is often not a great place to get news either because it generally takes the side of the wealthy. Newspapers are, afterall, the propaganda arm of the wealthy. You’ll find more objective reporting through smaller outfits that do not have to answer to a wealthy advertiser base.

    S0berage,

    Well said

    Candelestine,

lol You’ll never be done with social media.

    S0berage, (edited )

sniff… I know. Until I get my IRCv3 server off the ground, I’m stuck in normie-land.

    housepanther,

But perhaps we can empower you to learn to DIY. 😁

    S0berage, (edited )

I’m too lazy to make my own mastodon or Lemmy server. I’ll make my own irc server if anything, that I know very well. Inspircd or equivalent is fine. IRCv3 isn’t mature yet to deploy but ergo.chat is fully IRCv3 compliant.

    github.com/ergochat/ergo/releases

    housepanther,

Well, when you’re ready to dive in you just let me know. It’s not going to take a lot of time or money and it is rewarding.

    S0berage,

    For mastodon or Lemmy?

    housepanther,

Lemmy is more challenging to get going. Mastodon would be a better start for you. While Lemmy has been around for 4 years, it still lacks a lot of the polish that Mastodon has.

    S0berage,

The whole platform is just Twitter, which I hated and I hated how it’s crossed over with Lemmy. It’s as annoying as the pylink bots on multiple servers for the same channel on IRC. I just don’t get the constant joining and merging. It’s a ploy for the data mining psyop bullshit.

    housepanther,

So I take it you are unable to now move your followers to a different account because they suspended you? Yeah, that’s not cool. I am Jewish and I say “Fuck Israel!” So saying fuck Israel is not antisemitic. I find it shameful that after centuries of mistreatment and persecution, Jews aren’t recognizing Palestinian rights to a country of their own. I am a Jew who believes in the Palestinian right to statehood.

    S0berage,

I appreciate you broski. Glad it’s not just me. Being critical of Israel isn’t anti semitic. I’m tired of the censorship. Didn’t have any followers. I called someone a cunt after they said my post was blatantly “anti-Semitic”.

    housepanther,

The IDF does terrible things to the Palestinian people. What a lot of other people don’t really understand about the whole dynamic is that the Palestinian people are also used as pawns by the rest of Arab world. Palestinians are often treated as second class citizens amongst their own brethren. How do I know this? I have Palestinian friends who tell me as much. This is why Palestinians need their own country and it’s purely evilly fascist to deny them of that right.
