I am going to finally switch from #Windows to #Linux for good. I have been using Ubuntu on my laptop in the past and while the experience was solid I would rather chose other distribution. From those proposed in a survey, what would you recommend for undemanding user like me (browsing web, watching movies, using Libre Office suite, Gimp, other resource light tasks)?
I mostly made my mind already, but I am curious what you folks are gonna come up with :QueerCat:
I run (or rather playing with it for the moment) Debian on a Raspberry pi4 with docker and HA supervisor , but run out of memory as only have 2GB
It's easy to install and set up, so thinking to go for a Tiny PC anf formatting to Debian or getting a Pi with 8GB.
I tried HAOS on the pi, but couldn't get past the login console, and was lazy and didn't / couldn't find how to get past that login, and find a DE if there is one
If anyone can tell me how to do that i would be grateful
I tried HAOS once, but didn't like the command line only interface and so didn't bother looking into it further, but maybe I'll try again 👍 as Debian plus HA uses all the 2gb.
This is something I'm interested in, as they are quite cheap on amazon, refurbished and guaranteed. ThinkCentre Tinys, even sold with Windows 10, though I prefer Linux. Are you using windows or Linux on yours?
Debating between Home Assistant OS or Docker for Raspberry Pi 4
If I am not mistaken the tradeoff is losing add-ons but being able to install other services....
Thin PC or Raspberry?
Hello...
Looking to migrate from raspberry pi to SFF PC. What are good options in 2023?
I'm getting close to my 4gb RPI 4b's mem limit ~80% and would like to migrate from it to a low power SFF thin client. What are some good options?
