Same here, 3rd party apps didn't really affect me; but their treatment and attitude towards developers, users, and moderators got me to delete my 13yo account and walk away.
So I've seen a few posts regarding news outlets calling the protests a failure, and I don't really think that's the case. The protests have clearly made an impact, especially if the Reddit CEO is willing to oust MODS to reopen subreddits. I truly believe that something has been jump started here on Lemmy, Kbin, and all of the...
Minecraft with mods definetly - really adds a lot of variety, and even though I take long breaks i've been playing it a ridiculous amount of time since early beta maybe 11 or so years ago.
For me, I'm nearly 40 and I really love Avatar the last Airbender, reading YA novels, and sometimes I make pasta with fun shapes, just because I can....
I recently played an amazing DOS game where you have your country and you can declare war or peace with other ones, and i really enjoyed it. Growing up one of my favorite DOS games was Gobliiins 3, such cool memories!
Deleted my 1yo alt and my 12yo reddit account. Don't really use third party apps, but I their whole attitude was awful and it's not like thing are going to get better there.
Like for example, how someone thinks because you work in IT you can fix their TV, or how if you're into music you must be able to play any random instrument....
It's like trying to casually enjoy Rick & Morty. Some people assume you must be obsessed with it, and of course there's the "only smrt people get this" crowd. So I just quietly watch it.
I do modding for a game (Vintage Story). Always get rapid fire requests for all this stuff I could just quickly add related to the mod at hand or not.
Also the fact that I play Minecraft & Vintage Story - must be running around like in some meme. Nah, VS is much more chill and I guess mature maybe (not in an adult content sort of way). And in MC I'm usually doing like GregTech or some technical mod where i'm slowly torturing myself to assemble this and collect that.
“There’s a lot of noise with this one. Among the noisiest we’ve seen. Please know that our teams are on it, and like all blowups on Reddit, this one will pass as well”
[THE VERGE] The statement Reddit gave us is the oldest trick in the book. (cringe.whatever.social)
I've seen a few discussions about the "failed" protests and wanted to talk about it

If you could play only 1 Game for the rest of your life, which one would it be?
And why? For me, i would definitely choose minecraft, it would just feel like real life after a while. Also add a VR and you don't have to leave haha
What is a childish thing you still fully enjoy as an adult?

A few thoughts about the blackout and the future development of the Fediverse.
cross-posted from: https://kbin.social/m/RedditMigration/t/25185...
Silly kbin question - how to show content from my subscriptions?
Like I go to kbin home and it seems to show everything, i'm probably just missing some little button.
What's an innocent misconception about your hobby/profession that drives you up the wall?
Like for example, how someone thinks because you work in IT you can fix their TV, or how if you're into music you must be able to play any random instrument....
Reddit CEO tells employees that subreddit blackout “will pass” (www.theverge.com)
