Given 103 million viewers last year, I wouldn't call this a "great opportunity" to win either...unless you are running the sweepstakes, then it's creating a mailing list goldmine.
Letting this scan your machine using machine learning to be "helpful" is flat out criminal if any of the info is sent to Msft. And this is being installed for you automatically via a Windows update, why? I think we all know...
Jokes on you buddy, I've ditched my HP printers because of this nonsense. They literally locked me out of a printer all of a sudden after an update, deciding my cartridge bought from HP was no longer valid. Not to mention, just sitting there the inks use themselves up, I'm guessing just drying out from crappy design.
Pushing "machine learning" as "beneficial AI" appears to be a ploy to build profiles of everyone using all the data that can possibly be gathered up about them. The claims will be for better ads and better experiences, but the reality will be something quite different.
No whining, no drama, just no sale, like many others will do. This move creates doubts about what other problems were considered acceptable. The first game is pretty good, and waiting a bit will likely see a discount and possibly a better game.
This is ridiculous. It’s taken me a long time to switch to DuckDuckGo because when I get comfortable with something, it’s really difficult for me to switch, but if they’re going to totally change it (even if it appears to only be for certain search terms now), this is the last straw....

I put the versions of movies in a folder by title, then add a suffix like " - HD" and " - UHD4K" to the move file names. It defaults to the first in the list which is in alphabetical order, and shows a choice for each version.
I’ve been trying to setup Jellyfin from the docker container, but I can’t get it to work. Whenever access it it only shows me a single movie on the frontpage. If I enter the library it also shows me only one movie. When I click on one of the characters in the library it shows me a single movie starting with that character....
I have been using Jellyfin on Android and Windows viewing DVD movies that were converted with Handbrake into M4V files in H.265 format. The foreign subtitles and closed captions have always been embedded and passed through by handbrake, and I’ve never had any issues playing the subtitles over th years with VLC/KODI/Plex etc....

I used to have subtitle management issues, but now I use mkv files so that I can include the original subtitles from my discs. You can use settings in Handbrake to control size and quality. This doesn't help of course if you aren't using discs...
When I have a movie in HD and 4k, it's really simple to add a dash after each filename, which let's the user choose which to play. (such as Moviename - HD and Moviename - UHD4K. This does not work for shows. How can I get the same experience for shows as for movies, where I see one episode, but can choose the format to watch?
The only reason why we all used third party apps for Reddit, is because their app and website is abhorrent trash. It’s great to have a choice, but Lemmy’s website is smooth to use. I know it’s mind blowing not to use a app for everything in 2023 but Lemmy just works.
Same here on a lower end Samsung, it's fine. IMHO I also think if people flock to apps for just a UI, it can take away some of the motivation to improve a site.

For the people coming in asking what app for Lemmy. You don't need it. Lemmy is great on a mobile browser.
