Activision has released the official system requirements for playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III on PC. The minimum GPU specifications stipulate the need for an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970, GeForce GTX 1650, or AMD Radeon RX 480 for gameplay....
The last 2 MW have been multi-gen releases, so one good thing you can say about COD is that the engine is well optimized. Given MW3 doesn't look much different than MW2 (not a criticism), I'm assuming a solid launch.
I would upgrade for a slightly smaller, more battery efficient Steamdeck with an OLED screen. I know that's a lot to ask for, but definitely performance is the least of my concerns.
I did the Payday 3 beta. It threw up a LOT of red flags about the matchmaking system. I made a post reviewing the game where I basically said that if I were smart, I wouldn't be getting the game because based on the beta, matchmaking was going to be busted on release....
This is really sad to see -- I absolutely loved PD2 at release. It's some of the most fun co-op moments I've ever had in a game (maybe even the best).
I also played the beta and enjoyed the refined experience, but have still been working through BG3 and Starfield, so I decided to hold off on playing. Was hoping for a smooth release for everyone excited to play the game, so it's disappointing to see how terrible the experience has been at launch.
I would guess also a lot of XBOX players download the game on gamepass, and then never open it - since the there isn't any achievement unlocked prior to the one you get for reaching space, I wonder if there is any other way to tell.
Does this type of mod break with updates, or could you potentially just stay on the version you downloaded and forego any updates? I don't mod much to the point where I've paid for any, but curious the requisite of ongoing subscription for this type of thing.
Personally, as a customer, not a developer, this is disappointing to me, as there's still no reason for me to shop on Epic when they don't support my operating system, so this is likely just going to entice more developers to make me wait 6 months to play their games. Nonetheless, it's gaming news.
I would guess they were assuming the failure is that it's not attracting customers. Nothing wrong with operating at a loss, but you need something to show for it (en excelent product, a healthily growing userbase) -- it's hard to imagine EGS ticking any box with the exclusivity deals they've been getting. Personally I can't recall a single exclusive that they have, other than Fortnite and Ubisoft (which seems to have ended).
The downtown strip of the town I grew up in (about 2hrs from Toronto) is a ghost town. I doubt retailers want to risk starting a lease on a commercial property when in many situations, brick&mortar isn't much of an asset.
I hope they continue to expand on the gore systems in the game. I know that doesn't keep a game fresh for 10s of hours, but I do appreciate how they lean into the carnage factor. Reminds me of Soldier Of Fortune 1+2 in the sense.

I mean, the tactical battles are fun, but deep into final act, they become prolonged and tiresome to a point I stopped really bothering and instead focus on a story. As someone who is terrible at turn based CRPGs, I've found the explorer mode to be just perfect for me. I hit a skillwall imediately after fort joy in DOS2 on the easiest setting, so I was really pleasantly surprised.
The writer got mad when a goblin shoved Astarion off a cliff. It reminded me of when I had Karlach shove a goblin in lava, then a goblin ran up and shoved HER in the lava. I didn’t get mad; I took it as a learning moment: enemies can shove me back, so move away from the lava.
