"J4YC33's just this person, you know?" ~not Gag Halfrunt... probably.

Is this because fewer support it? Or there are fewer republicans, but the ones there still are are more extreme?

Can I moderate from Kbin?

Does the moderation federate?

j4yc33,
j4yc33 avatar

I meant to say, would I be able to use my Kbin account to assist you in moderation efforts, or would I need to set up on your instance?

Anyone play any Star Trek Tabletop games? (Specifically STA, the SFU games from ADB, or Attack Wing/Alliance)? I wanted to get a tabletop gaming magazine together for that, but I don't know if it has a justifying interest.

Anyone else play the Starfleet Universe (SFB, STCS, FedCom, etc) games?

I would love to see/have seen Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Patrick get a scene together.

Are artists and creators not welcome in this community? (sh.itjust.works)

I decided to do a bit of a dive into this platform, and while I think it is an interesting idea, I am yet to find a space on Lemmy where I am welcome. I am an artist. I have a Patreon that pays my bills and puts food on the table. Generally, I give the majority of my stuff away for free to the community, but that usually comes...

j4yc33 avatar

And more folks using Patreons or less-enshitified Patreon-alikes.

Literally the owning of your own labor.

How'd you get a "Fake IP Address"?

j4yc33,
j4yc33 avatar

So, I see the downvote, but like. IP addresses (at least V4 before someone comes in all pedantic like) are done in four octets of 8 bits each. That leaves a maximum of 11111111 (255) in each octet for valid addresses between 0.0.0.0->255.255.255.255 with several subsets within dedicated to specific routing purposes at various levels.

A hidden IP, or a masked IP? Sure, maybe you had a VPN to hide your address somewhat, and a burner email. That's not all it takes to be anonymous on the internet, nor is it particularly safe as even basic measures. More importantly, posting about it publicly isn't exactly the best Opsec either.

I'm not trying to call someone out for acting a fool. I am, however, trying to find out what they think they mean by Fake IP address because the only thing less safe than being insecure, is being insecure and thinking you're safe.

Everquest. Man that was revolutionary.

I think some mods need to purge their subreddits before noping out.

Man, Topps really is missing out by not having a huge collection of trading cards for folks to collect...

Right?! This is winning some direct support right here!

Maemo and Windows Phone Metro.

There's a modern-ish fork of it for PinePhone. I haven't yet tried it, but I intend to!

j4yc33,

Computers. Or, more rightly, the mindless use thereof.

j4yc33,
j4yc33 avatar

I think this is it. People still don't understand that it's not about consolidation of power and profit.

j4yc33,
j4yc33 avatar

I also picked up one magazine /m/battletech. For largely the same reasons. It needed to exist, I know there will be community. I even did have a thing or two to post (I'm not done with the minis I intend to post, but I promise I'm working on them!).

Also same: If anyone wants to mod this after it takes off, I'll be glad to hand it off!

j4yc33,

These look pretty great!

j4yc33,

That Kickstarter was epic though! I think I got most of the add-ons as vehicles because I have no where near enough of those!

Do you play as well? Or do you prefer only the hobby aspect?

j4yc33,
j4yc33 avatar

I deffo enjoy the hobby aspect of it for sure, but for me Alpha Strike is where it's at! My kiddo (9) and I play a fair bit of hex-based Alpha Strike. Other than that, not a whole lot. I do miss long games with a star or fewer mechs, but there's something to be said for seeing a good 8v8 or bigger match taking place.
