OC FIDE vs. lichess rating comparison

This is an analysis I did some time ago comparing FIDE ratings to lichess ratings. The biggest part of the work was finding a reliable way to get both ratings for the same set of players. A lot of players on lichess post their FIDE ratings, but unfortunately, some players will post joke ratings, or just outright lie....

Very interesting, thank you for sharing.
I think the major reason for the difference in rating is caused because playing online vs. over the board is very different. And players that are used to play online might be not as strong over the board and vice versa. But this is just my assumption without any data behind :)

LPT: Not a fan of going to Twitch to watch you favorite lichess streamer? Lichess has a hidden built in function to view the stream from Lichess. Just append /{name} at the end of this URL. (lichess.org)

If they’re a twitch streamer, it will still use the twitch plugin to view the stream. Instead of ads you will get pauses, but beware, sometimes the pauses are long.

I totally agree with you. If someone resigns, the game is lost for sure. But if someone decides to continue playing, even with lost position, there are many chances to draw or even win! So never resign!
