I have been told by my coworkers that some younger people consider it aggressive when you use thumbs up or put a period at the end of a text message.

I would ask for an explanation if why, but I don’t think it would help.

I can see, and understand, why.

It's usually in IMs, where communication is informal, more speech-like and short.

This makes a lot of changes compared to traditionally written language.

for example, many times I'd knowingly leave out a question mark from a question.
It really gives it a different tone with or without a question mark.

and same goes for other punctuations, like a period.

It's like a period is cutting a sentence and the conversation in an angry sorta tone.
try to see the difference yourself answering a question like this "no" or like this "No."
You can sense the tone changing, right?

And a thumb up is not even bothering to open your mouth.
imagine you say something, and I just wave my hand at you to sign you to shut up and go away. sort of. not exactly.
but sometimes around that.

I like how there's so many products and so much money spent on endpoint defense,
malware detection, incident response, scanning of files, behavioral changes and signals
and all that shit...

but then companies end up losing millions to a simple phishing attack.

I'm doing the SC-200 by Microsoft, and I barely see things that talk about this

And these spear phishing attacks are 90% of the time avoidable by just educating the people.

Like, I wonder who buys all these products but doesn't bother educating their employees.

I that think no less than 50% of the budget should be invested in mail monitoring and education against social engineering and phishing attacks.

I like how people who never even thought about Israel a year ago (let alone be here, talk with people from here),
suddenly think they know everything about inner politics, the war, the dynamics between the groups here, the army, the people, the Knesset.

Like, people please don't get over yourselves.

It gives me some perspective about the Ukrainian Russian war, still ongoing.

While I don't side with Putin, I can acknowledge that I don't know the full history of the area. The means to the conflict, the origins of the war.

Come on, I too thought it was easy to simply see Putin as the evil and Ukraine as the innocent, hero, underdog.
But even if they really are,
what the fuck do I know?

Have I ever been to Ukraine?
Did I do more then consume online media about the war and assume it truth?

they know just right what's going through Netanyahu's head,
know like they've been living it,
