I would definitely not use any technologies that use internet or can be hacked remotely. But I would accept some that would help my life significantly.
I'll go for something simple and possibly more realistic. Just give me a programmable NFT implant on the back of my hand or something that i can use to pay for things, open doors, unlock computers, etc
As more and more articles and interviews come out about spez and how he's inspired by how Musk running Twitter, I genuinely can't believe he's this stupid. Anyone else think that we could see a repeat of what happened with Ellen Pao when all the gate subreddits were banned? All of these quotes from Spez are coming out, and the...
Look, i dislike Spez as much as the next guy, but this has been disproven plenty of times. He was added as a mod back when you could just be added without having to accept the position.
Let's talk about all the positive coverage he gave to the creator of jailbait, creepshots, and other similar subreddits, going so far as to give him a unique "Pimp Daddy" flair
Pretty much - I took a look at Reddit today and the attitude regarding that blackout has done a complete 180. I don't know if Reddit managed to push the narrative or what, but all I've seen is users complaining about "activists mods" and how they were never in favour of the blackout to begin with
After the Mullvad fiasco I decided to stop using VPNs all together, since port forwarding is always going to be a problem on all of them, if you read the reasons why Mullvad had to shut down that service....
Fuck, this is how I find out Mullvad is dropping support for port forwarding.
I already have a protonmail account, guess I'll get the VPN too now. My entire setup relies on using wireguard on the firewall level, so another solution like i2p won't work
I've recently been wondering if Lemmy should switch out NGINX for Caddy, while I hadn't had experience with Caddy it looks like a great & fast alternative, What do you all think?...
nginx 100% isn't the problem, and you're right on all counts. I'll also add that I've seen reports that Lemmy has some pretty poorly optimized SQL queries.
They need to add support for a message broker system like RabbitMQ. That way their poor postgres instance stops being the bottleneck.
I'm looking for PC games that I can play while listening to podcasts- games that don't have engaging cut scenes or important dialogue, games that honestly don't require a lot of skill or thought....
I love ARPGs for this. Path of Exile and Last Epoch both have a highly repeatable endgame where you can just put on your media and blast maps/monoliths mindlessly for a few hours
If you just want to get to a satisfying endgame loop of killing demons, getting loot, and getting upgrades, I wouldn't recommend it. The endgame is pretty dull, and there aren't many interesting avenues for upgrading/building out characters.
QoL is also kinda shit. There's just a bunch of missing basic features that even Diablo 3 has.
However, if all you care about is doing the campaign, exploring the world, etc, then I can probably recommend it. The game has a pretty solid foundation, the gameplay is honestly fun, and the story is decent fun if a bit stupid at times. All this especially if you're playing with a friend.
I'm more worried about tankies in the fediverse right now. Lemmy was full of them just a few months ago, but I'm hoping a mass migration will drown them out
Been playing Diablo 4 for the past week. Ended up being pretty disappointed by the endgame and by the systems overall. But it did get me in the mood for an ARPG, so I'm back to Path of Exile, like usual
"Tipflation" may be causing tipping backlash as more digital prompts ask for tips (www.cbsnews.com)
Which futuristic technology would you accept in or on your body and why?
I would definitely not use any technologies that use internet or can be hacked remotely. But I would accept some that would help my life significantly.
Anyone else think that spez might be the fall guy for the board?

Domain registrar
Seeing the news with Google domains, I’m looking to move registrars, and was wondering who everyone uses.
Reddit CEO Steve Huffman isn’t backing down: our full interview (www.theverge.com)
Anyone else read this? The arrogance is palpable.
It's still "fun", but (lemmy.world)
Stop relying on VPNs - Just use your computer with i2p

Should beehaw ditch NGINX for Caddy?

Casual game recommendations?

Come on and fight me........
One week in, how are you all feeling about Diablo 4?
I've been going at it pretty heavily for the past week - 2 characters at endgame, one in the 50s progressing toward T4...

Witcher 3 DLC: HoS / BaW - Which is better?
Riffing on the previous /c/gaming Witcher post I’m curious as to what people think is the better experience.

The other thread about favorite mechanics is great, so let's also do the opposite: what are some of your most hated mechanics?
