@mycus@mycus@kbin.social I’m still confused. You’re saying I will eventually not see this message, and posts to that community will start to populate there instead? That shouldn’t take more than minutes. It’s been 10.

@shoq Yeah, I'm trying to search as many magazines as I can and none of them show any posts over at @mastodon.social. Bummer :\

The same can't be said about lemmy's communities, though. @linux@lemmy.ml for instance (ha), works just fine. I guess it's just because kbin isn't as mature yet.

Although this makes me wonder, can you follow a whole instance domain over there? like following @beehaw.org, for example.

edit: apparently not. but issue is open

So, what’s the general consensus on Lemmy? Is it a toxic project with questionable roots, or just one with some really bad PR? The app is not especially impressive to me, thus far, but I’m told it’s more advanced than Kbin, and I may not be configured properly.

@shoq I tried joining lemmy.ml last year, they never answered the sign-up request :(

Kbin is basically still in early beta, so a some features are still unstable and wonky, but the concept is really nice. I think you posted this on your mastodon feed? I'm answering it in the microblog section of kbin. The author (Ernest) said he has plans to make it federate with the entirety of the fediverse, so I guess that is worth a close watch.

edit: apparently this doesn't work yet, checking your profile on your instance shows me nothing about this interaction lol.

edit2: apparently it does! lmao just takes ~30min to sync, but it does! wtf

@shoq
You can, but apparently it is pretty weird rn

I am not sure, but I think that if you actually start following a magazine from kbin it will only then start federating with your feed.

As in someone from your instance has to manually interact with it to make it federated for the rest.

edit: the link isn't working the way I intended, try searching for the magazine in your instance's search bar; @RedditMigration@kbin.social
