I'm a psychiatrist.

The idea that depressed people don't have enough serotonin, or that there's such a thing as a 'chemical imbalance' that needs to be corrected by--you guessed it--big pharma's stupid drugs.

rgb_leds_are_love, to ADHD

I am in the process of getting formally diagnosed with ADHD. So far, about two psychiatrists have basically confirmed it, based on my list of symptoms and my history.

I know this is a question for another time, but I’m losing a ton of weight right now and getting myself to look better. If it comes to getting medicated for ADHD, will any of the meds affect fat loss? I really don’t have any problems putting on muscle, but I do have a problem losing fat (genetic issue).

@rgb_leds_are_love most ADHD medicines do not cause weight gain. If anything, maybe some weight loss for many of them. should be fine.

@rgb_leds_are_love yeah mostly they suppress appetite, as far as I know, though I suppose they may increase basal metabolism a bit too. not sure, honestly, about the specifics.
