Even browsing reddit feels weird and chaotic now for me (still browsing out of habit). Only the small niche subreddits pop up and there is so much rare small content on my feed that I never would see otherwise because it gets drowned out.
Yeah Reddit has a lot of really valuable communities that are not ruined imo. For some of those niche communities the other option for discourse/information is Tiktok which I don't like because the discourse is super fragmented and hard to follow.
One think we can conquer is that each and everyone of us has hyperfixations, some have permanent ones, others have cyclic ones but it's one of the things that makes us who we are and makes as happy....
My special interest is humanities, that includes languages, linguistics, history, cultures and geography. The actual hyperfixation fluctuates but it always about one of those areas. Now for some reason it's geography of the US (I'm not from the US).
OC I love the chaos at the moment
I'm feeling a real positive energy and community spirit as a result of the sudden fragmentation of reddit's foundational use base....
Hey keebinetters and fediverse, what are your favourite kbin/fediverse magazines (communities)?
Lets make a thread to post our niches that we have found here. Big magazines are ok too....
for the Reddit refugees, do you also feel a bit heartbroken?
For me it feels like breaking up with someone after many years. At the same time, I feel a bit dirty mentioning the name in the post title.
Let's talk hyperfixations
