Nice. I've been linux daw shopping as of late. My girlfriend's computer died so I let her borrow my music laptop, which is my only windows machine. So, I haven't done much lately. I'll have to look into this.
Never seen a stove with knobs on the front outside of restaurant kitchens. I've been in many houses of varying wealth levels, and never seen that unless in a residential kitchen.
Always found it offputting how often I hear about people's step parents being somehow worse than their biological parent, and their biological parent being totally cool with it.
Not saying that's your situation. Just something I thought about. Like my friend growing up had a cool mom and dad, but his step dad was the biggest asshole ever. And his mom was totally cool with it. Guy tried to break my ps3 cause we were playing COD and he had an unspoken rule of no M rated games in the house. And all the times he called me homophobic slurs, even though I'm not gay. His mom was great though, so it made no sense.
Before I left Austin, I would shop at the Nuclear War Now shop often. The folks across from the warehouse had a ton of peacocks, and the first time I saw them it caught me entirely off guard.
I got to the drive in from time to time. Watching the meg 2 in my car with a hotdog and Pepsi from the stand beat sitting in a glorified strangers livingroom. Even if the movie was confusingly terrible.
Ow. I didn't use gentoo until I had good enough hardware that updates wouldn't take 2 days to finish. I used arch or freebsd when I only had a laptop available.
Really what got me to learn to use the terminal more was downloading systems without tons of gui apps. Most base systems will be like that. In general my only gui apps are a file browser, web browser, and audio tools. Debian, arch, gentoo, nix. Avoid stuff like mint or endeavour if you want to force yourself into learning the terminal. The more you use it, the better you'll get. Using gui apps isn't bad, sometimes it just works better for specific actions. But knowing how to use the terminal helps for when nothing else works.
I have since learned that this “fact” isn’t true… Turns out the source of that info wasn’t understanding how tags work. There’s actually just a lot of fanfics that include Astarion. Not necessarily for romance 🤷...
