turn_to_follow,

Let's be real.

Reddits IPO is dependent on inflated bot numbers. Bots aren't a problem, they're the future.

turn_to_follow,

Are you like 10 or something? You know you don't have to follow your mom to Atlantic City right?

turn_to_follow,

I still don't get it lmao

I made an account with kbin because the interface most resembles reddit, but apparently that means I have a lemmy account or something?

turn_to_follow,
  • you can still see posts from people in lemmy.world

So if I go to kbin.social homepage, I am in fact seeing posts to any number of sites? Or is the notionof a site not accurate? I'm still kinda confused. Despite my age I'm a fucking luddite lol

turn_to_follow,

So its like a decentralized thing that all goes back to... lemmy? I legit don't understand.

Fuck Reddit

After years of using reddit, i finally deleted everything including my account there. Personally, i am not affected by the api prices, BUT, i couldn't live with me supporting people, who see their userbase, moderators and creators as nothing but noise. The point i'm making? Greetings Lemmy. I joined a few days ago and i'm here...

turn_to_follow,

It'll happen here, too.

People forget how obvious the efforts of Correct the Record and ShareBlue were on reddit.

Part of it was understandable: Trump sucks and any alternative was preferable, and reddit as a whole skews young and Democrat. So who cares, right?

But that level of astroturfing would have rightly been called out were the politics swapped.

And it goes way beyond politics. I'm sure Marvel and Disney are sending out feelers to control discussion in reddit alternatives.

turn_to_follow,

Really? Cause this explanation doesn't actually explain anything, but certainly provides us with an enemy 'evil money guys'.

The more I think about it, I think this dumb talking-down explanation just muddies the water.

turn_to_follow,

I finished watching Beau Is Afraid and immediately looked up the reddit reaction to make sure I wasn't nuts thinking it was awful.

I do that with lots of movies tbh, reddit had kinda taken over the imdb forums. Waiting to see if kbin has the same effect.

Beau is afraid fucking sucks btw

turn_to_follow,

The first third is cool and interesting. But jfc we don't need a three hour movie of pretentious jerking off of Ari Aster's mother issues.

Total misfire imo. It's like he wanted to ape charlie Kaufman's neurosis without putting in the work of writing a cogent screenplay.

/end rant

turn_to_follow,

So a social worker comes over, inspects the home.

Finds drugs scattered about, moldy bottles, rotten food, diaper hasn't been changed in days. Deems the child at risk. Child is taken by the state.

Mother becomes homeless and jobless.

Around the time that Social Services cut off services to Hinojosa, her life was finally stabilizing. She moved in with her mother. She reenrolled in parenting classes. She began meeting with a behavioral analyst named Valere Walton, who started Hinojosa on an intensive case management plan to help her develop better parenting skills.

I'm sorry, but this is all pretty standard shit regardless of race. She's a bad mother, and is crying racism since the state took her kids.

turn_to_follow,

I firmly place it betwixt my ass cheeks and let the glutes do their work.

turn_to_follow,

About the only thing that sucks is the comments being separated by page. Also, I don't seem to get notification when someone replies to a comment/post.

So the only thing lacking here is just the user numbers

turn_to_follow,

Yeah, and if people are feeling super duper old school, you can just... write shit down on a piece of paper, such as "Read 2023:"

Maybe I'm crazy out of touch, but since when did literally everything require an app

turn_to_follow,

A book collection requires years to accumulate. You'll be fine.

turn_to_follow,

I'm not prepared for how much Mahomes says 'baby'.

It's legit a problem at this point.

turn_to_follow,

The author mentions all of the seating would likely all be on one side, which seems... less than ideal. My biggest question doesn't have to do with the fan experience (let's be real, the nfl won't care about those in attendance so long as a competent television product can be accomplished) -- I question what tf they'd do for locker rooms. Just have big tents at either end zone?

I'll bet dollars to donuts they just play in Gainesville tho

turn_to_follow,

Gainesville makes the most sense. Though I wonder if Khan would take this opportunity to try to play more games in the UK.

Not sure of the nfl bylaws re: international games though
