In the continuing quest to boost my mom's nutrition, the nurse said to get her some supplemental protein drinks. Is there a brand that is both sound nutritionally, and tastes good, in Yall's experience? She doesn't really care for Ensure or Boost, but so far, she does like the Owyn chocolate and she especially likes the Atkin's Chai Latte.
For me there are a few people who are usually equalizing, and I can just be around them, so I won't count that. But generally, I find about 3 times a week, I'm game for socializing. A day in between to rest is usually nice, but the larger the gathering or if we go somewhere particularly noisy or I'm meeting new people that involves more effort, and my social battery empties sooner. I'm very curious where everyone else falls on this!
@RickiTarr I do enjoy socializing, but I don’t feel I ever crave it. Solitude is just a better fit for me and it’s something I seek out. The people I can just be quiet with are priceless. So, to answer your question: I have a big need/want for alone time and not much for socializing.
@bookstodon Blackstone Publishing is really putting out some good work of late. I recently picked up Lilith, by Eric Rickstad, and was pleasantly surprised by the strength of the writing and the fearlessness of the highly topical plot.
@kimlockhartga@bookstodon Lilith has been on my tbr. I found out about it very close to the publishing date and got a denial from Netgalley. It’s on my hold list. Glad to hear you enjoyed it.
@CindySue Oh don’t be! Try the first one. I am not a fantasy reader ( nor are series my thing) at all, so this was stepping out of my norm. My SIL told me to give it a hundred pages. I still was thinking, yeah, ok. Well I’m almost done with book 2.
Truly and honestly, I have a great time here, because you all make it great. You boost, you reply, you encourage, and inspire! It is crazy to me that I get to talk to people from all over the world every day. I get to be friends with people I'll probably never actually get to physically meet. I was born into a pre-internet world, and this still feels a little like a miracle to me.
