In 2021 after my dad died and I took over my portion of his remaining 401k, I saw that it was entirely invested in big oil. I immediately moved the money out of fossil fuels. While you can't control what's in certain mutual or lifecycle funds, if you do have the opportunity to divest from fossil fuels please do so. And if possible through your employer's 401k offerings, look for "fossil free" funds. They do exist. Here's one place to search: https://fossilfreefunds.org/funds

The thing that upsets me about #Recall is that my data will be exposed by someone else, some business, using Windows. I'm not going to be using it, that's not my concern. It's that places that will use it will also have information about me that could potentially destroy my finances and identity. And is the gov't going to use it? It f'ing well better not. #privacy

Heat is going to take down power systems. The power systems that could protect us from an event, will be harmed by the event.

618 people in Canada, in the mountains, in the forest, died of a heat event, on the floors of their homes, on their beds. No flames. Just a days heat.

@kevinrns The way I read that, there are no instructions yet for how an individual would apply for whatever sort of credit each state has in their program. The states and territories have to apply for the money, which will fund state and territory programs, however each one designs it.

It's often said that America became a full democracy after the Voting Rights Act of 1965 (Yes, Chad, I know the word "republic," if you come at me with juvenile bullshit you'll be blocked).

I was born before the U.S. became a modern democracy, and I want to live the rest of my life without the U.S. going further backward. But that's the road we're on. is working hard on taking rights away. Even if they're not your favorite in all respects, please for all Dems in November.

I'm confused as to why yesterday MSNBC had Crowdstrike & think tank guy Dmitri Alperovich (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dmitri_Alperovitch) on as a Chinese strategy expert wrt Taiwan reunification. There are hundreds of top retired DOD or State Dept personnel more qualified to discuss this topic. How did he end up in MSNBC's rotation of talking heads? Well, apparently he recently wrote a book it even though it doesn't seem to have been a top focus of his career. Wonder what I should write a book on?
