In case you missed it, the Fediverse has an alternative to Amazon's Goodreads called BookWyrm, which is a social reading platform.

Existing Goodreads users can import their data into BookWyrm.

BookWyrm's entry on fedi.tips is now updated with common questions answered:

@feditips @bookwyrm I chose Bookwyrm as my online Bookplatform, because it is federated and non-commercial.
It has its quirks, and the database isn’t as big as Goodreads. I love adding to it tho.
But I still want to contact them to see if I can help with the UI. Lack of time holds me back.
I know this doesn’t seem a great review, but it has great potential and does what I want from it!

If you're familiar and comfortable with using Github, you can give specific suggestions to the developers on BookWyrm's page there: https://github.com/bookwyrm-social/bookwyrm/issues

@feditips @bookwyrm I’ll have a look there. Haven’t used it before, but I’m sure I can manage.
