@MeanwhileinCanada I'm so very tired of the push for permanent DST. It should be permanent standard time. Where I am in Western Washington, middle and high schoolers already have to wait for the bus in the dark (7:15 and 6:30, respectively) in late fall and early winter. Keeping DST would mean elementary students (8 or 8:30 pickup) would have to do it, too.
Of course, it would also be good if they ran school days for all kids from 9-4, but that would make too much sense.
@MeanwhileinCanada well I say it every fall....I LOVE having the sun rise before 9AM! When it gets light too late in the morning it ruins my whole day!
@MeanwhileinCanada
Wouldn't need to set it back if we hadn't set it forward unnecessarily in the first place. What's crazy and causes more stress and accidents is switching it back and forth twice a year. Please can we just pick one and stick with it?
@MeanwhileinCanada No, I DO say this!! 😂
So much better to rise with (or after!) the sun.
So much unnecessary suffering for the entire day!! -to get up when it's still dark. 😫
People should only be required to work (with obvious exceptions) or go to- mandatory school during daylight hours wherever they are. And be free to get home before dark, however long that takes on an individual basis. That's what should change- not the clocks.
@MeanwhileinCanada Is it a lark vs nightowl thing? I'm a fan of 7am sunrises again. Although the whole idea of switching the clock twice a year is ridiculous.
