We're idiots and I have anxiety. We misunderstood each other, meters confused us with the trees, and I didn't fight back thinking Kyle knew better than me lol
We definitely don't have space for two of the three trees we bought yesterday 🫠
We'll have nice trees to donate (anyone? Lol).
We'll keep the magnolia, and we got a dappled willow, a weeping larch and a dwarf Korean lilac instead. We feel stupid, but much better with our new choices.
@stephanie I don't know what the Korean lilac is like, but we have a dwarf Siberian lilac and it's been doing it's job of not getting too big 😜 I planted it near the house so when it's in bloom and I have the windows open the house smells like lilac and it's wonderful. I have a big old normal one in the back, but it's too far to smell in the house.
I deleted yesterday's posts because I felt too ashamed, but heh, we're two smart adults who got thwarted by meters 😅
#Ottawa if someone has a big backyard, we'll have an Eastern Redbud and an Autumn Brilliance Serviceberry to donate (they're multiple feet tall, worth a good amount of money).
@stephanie Is there some public or abandoned land nearby that you can see from your place?
You could 'guerilla plant' them in a spot like that, and then still enjoy them from a distance. They may survive for years and add to the local canopy.
@stephanie I’m sure the “we’re idiots” comment was meant as a bit of humorous self-mockery, but don’t beat yourself up, and definitely don’t make it a mantra!
@stephanie If it makes you feel any better, right after I posted that I stuck my fingers in my cup of coffee, thinking I was reaching for a bowl of mixed nuts which was beside it.
