They’re afraid to give any ground in the rights of the people over the data these companies collect. This is a fight I believe they’ll lose. There’s way too much pearl clutching think of the children type stuff involved with the Internet at large for them to be successful. Because despite the fact that children under the age of 13 can’t use most sites per TOS, those kids are still using the Internet. The real question is whether or not they’ll have to parse that data out of monetization algorithms and whether they can. That’s a question I’m interested in.
