#WordWeavers 2/6: If your MC listened to your favourite music, what would their reaction be?

Connor would laugh and recognize all the series and game music I love to listen to. (Some of it is my power music, from Boba Fett or Valheim.)

Ashley would ask where it came from.

Both would also be surprised by my love of classical music.

Hühnerprojekt abgeschlossen. Sie sind da. :) Rosie, Jackie und Cookie. Meine Tochter (8) hat sie mit ihrem angesparten Taschengeld bezahlt. Sie gehören ganz allen ihr. Und sie ist schon den ganzen Tag draußen und kümmert und beobachtet ihre neuen Lieblinge. :)

#PennedPossibilities 333 — Do you write any characters who are a part of the #LGBTQIA+ community?

I don't have a lot, but West (West Flows) surprised me by declaring he was gay. I will admit I struggled with that, until I realized that love is just love. And he is very much in love with his Jeko.

I hope that more characters will come out as queer. I think my Moon might be. (She's the MC in the book after Sun Burns.)

No writing today, but that's okay. I'm still building the habit.

In very good news, I saw a preview of the cover for Sun Burns today - my awesome cover designer is at it. I nitpicked a tiny detail, and she'll fix it. I hope I can share it soon. (Can't wait!)

I also joined a climate march today (not that I marched far), and while I was a bit disappointed at the size of the crowd, I'm glad I went.

I have to do something difficult today:

Announce to everyone that I'll start raising the prices on my books this weekend, i.e. tomorrow.

I'm telling you anyway because I want to give you the opportunity grab any of my books you've waited to read before the price goes up.

#PennedPossibilities 331 — Has your MC ever desired the feeling of a fresh start, or a better understanding of themselves and / or the world around them?

Connor's worst moment was when his pack fell apart. When his leader turned out to be cheater, when he turned against his own second, over a woman.

He does get a fresh start, ending up as the pack leader himself, albeit of a demoralized and injured few men. Still, he does the best he can.

Gute Nacht, Freunde.

Slow day. Wrote 450 words for Sun in the morning, survived the office, grabbed groceries on my way home.

Played a LOT of Valheim. Starting to feel comfortable in the Swamp. Time to tackle the boss, methinks.

Didn't take screenshots - the Swamp is a dreary, dark place.

#PhantastikPrompts 30.5.: "Was ist auf dem Cover deines Buches abgebildet? Wer hat es erstellt?"

Da ich gerade mit Connor spiele, der in meine Wolf Shifter Serie gehört, sind natürlich Wölfe auf dem Cover.

Aber meine beiden Hauptfiguren sind auch drauf, Connor und Ashley. Ich freue mich sehr, weil meine Designerin sie so gut getroffen hat. (germancreative auf Fiverr)

Das Kanu im unteren Teil kommt in der Geschichte auch vor. Ich hatte darum gebeten.

#WritersCoffeeClub 30/5: How do you achieve a sense of wonder in your stories?

Uh.

This is not something I plan and plot on purpose. I just go and explore the world and watch my characters run into trouble and try to survive it.

All of my worlds have some kind of magic in it (or science, which is close enough), and all of them have an element of discovery, of something hidden and unknown to be revealed.

I suppose that works for me, and I hope it works for the readers.

#PennedPossibilities 330 — How does your MC go about expressing or not expressing their sexuality?

Connor enjoys the occasional tryst, certainly. He's also confident about his looks, but so far has not considered a relationship.

Ashley would love to get some. She's impressed by her cousin's adventures, but doesn't quite dare to go there yet. Connor fascinates her and she wants to conquer him, but... he won't give in to her advances.

Wrote 700 words for Sun this morning. Very glad to slide back into building my habit.

Poor Sun said the wrong thing and got knocked out again. And yeah, things will get even worse from that - before they get better.

Also finished another batch of proofreading, cooked food, took a nap and played Valheim. Had a good conversation here on Mastodon. It's been a fine day.

Have some Viking slice of life.

The Right hates blacks.

And Latinos, Asians, Muslims. Thugs (black men.) Indigenous peoples. LGBTQ. Young people with blue hair. The poor. Educated people. Women who aren't doormats -- or are but won't be raped or beaten. Jews, at least those who don't hate Arabs. Feminists. Liberal men. Atheists. Women who've had an abortion. Witches. Goths.

Liberals just hate conservatives (and that's fairly recent.) It's much more efficient. You don't have to memorize the various lists of people to hate.
