Good day!

This morning promises mild temperatures for my walk. Clouds have moved over, rain is moving in, & the wind is kicking up, but I embrace variety.

This is my fifth day editing Book-2. Originally drafted while extremely ill, the chapters are a list of insertions, a collection of corrections. Seeing it come together as a whole more powerful than its parts is thrilling.

Always my writing gives back & I’m grateful.

Be everwell.

05.05.

Feel-good stories in any Universe.

305 — Are there any characters of yours that you wound up HATING once you were finished with a story or WIP?

Not really.

I really tried to hate Ferren (Dorelle's former commander and enemy), but then he descended deeper and deeper into madness, and I felt pity, rather than hate.

Yes, he had to die in the end, for what he did (and I HATED one thing he did), but still... he mostly made me sad.

4.5.: Beschreibe deine liebste Nebenfigur.

5/5. Is there a certain kind of story or arc that is easier for you to write as a short story than others?

Not really.

I sometimes write short stories - usually, they turn into novellas, though.

To me, a short story is about one moment in time, one specific event, something "unheard of" in that person's life. (Yes, that harks back to Goethe's "unerhörte Begebenheit".)

That helps me write short(er) stories. And sometimes, I'm in the mood for that.

Gute Nacht, Freunde.

Spent the day gaming. The world is so getting me down. Feels like greed and ego are winning, and those who could wield some power for good refuse to do so.

So I did some good in Valheim. And survived the first troll attack on our home with little damage. Still a scary moment.

I hope I'll feel better tomorrow. I know what I want to write.

#WritersCoffeeClub 5/4: What's the worst thing about being a writer?

Getting all the story ideas all the time.

Turning experiences into stories. Creating worlds I want to live in. Longing for the happiness my characters find.

And finally... sharing and marketing all those books.

Guten Morgen.

Was too tired to post last night, and friend actually had time to play this morning, so I'm only back now.

We walked into the Swamp and went through a crypt, and even though we died a few times, we made it back with a nice load of iron. Now we just have to repeat that several times...

I'm getting closer to the big confrontation Sun and Laisal will face. And I think I have found a way to make it work. Sun will have quite a moment of growth. Ahem.

MC POV: What do you dislike about yourself?

Oh, God, it's my earnestness. Like, for instance, prepping for my interview with Mr. Price. Mr. Price is a regular person, not an expert like the 2000 people I prepped at Grantham, Reed. Being diligent, I videoed myself asking the questions. Good enough, I thought, until I watched it. My careful voice, my serious expression—it made me want to vomit. I'm so full of it.

304 — How did your MC feel about friendships growing up? How do they feel about them now?

This one is easy. She was betrayed by a boy she thought was her soulmate at age eight. She distrusts friendship full stop.

She's learning how wrong she was now, and seems to be taking the advanced course in the subject with multiple boyfriends and people who intensely value and support her. Hearing someone loves her more than life itself, she of course commits herself to a deadly confrontation to save him, herself, and his attempted murderer.

The male lead is feeding chicken soup he made to the female MC who seems faint. He is trying to get her to rest. She likes his concern. He blows on the Asian-style spoon and she lets him feed her twice like a toddler, before taking his wrist.

I thought I wrote that she guides the spoon to her mouth.

What I actually unconsciously wrote was that she guided the spoon to his mouth

This is from a romance novel. Suddenly the electricity between the perspective couple is doubled, especially when it manages to get him to blush slightly.

The subconscious is a wonderful thing!
