I guess we have cicadas too in California, I didn’t even know. But they don’t emerge en mass like a biblical plague and I have to say I’m very glad! I feel like I would be freaked out by that situation. One reason I didn’t care for Texas was all the bugs. The sheer terror of large flying things caught in long hair can not be overstated 😵‍💫

@Haikyonekyes all that is true. But mainly was just thrown for a loop that the article was premised on on a 17% —> 23% jump, which doesn’t seem that big when the corresponding rate in many places in Japan is 50-60% 😳
