Treated myself to a new rucksack back in February, for conferences and other times when I need a smarter looking bag.

I've used it maybe once a fortnight since, and haven't overloaded it. I'm not best pleased to find that the strap has started to come away already.

I'm not going to ask for a replacement, it's too much hassle and creates waste. So it's time to repair the rucksack!

I'm really glad I waited for a sample of that nice-seeming linen before ordering. HOLY SHIT it's nice. It's really really nice. It's got the drape and slight translucency of linen in any number of C17th and C18th artworks. But more importantly, it has the closest feel to certain historical linens I've had my hands on. This is the stuff I need.

I've made an order. I'm telling myself it's my birthday present. I am no longer allowed Skulliver.

Got a tech coming tomorrow and hoping they can fix it. Because my job kinda requires les internets and I'd rather WFH on Friday than go into the office :x

I have been cat called so many times running, and once a young man slapped my bum from behind and tried to pull me into the bushes, but I think this is worse. Why the fuck is women feeling powerful through running something men feel compelled to try and take away?

Just saw someone give a set of instructions for downloading files from Google Docs as though it's not general knowledge and like I've been hearing that younger people aren't taught basic IT skills any more and yes I've seen hints of that at work with younger colleagues and interns, but holy shit seeing a tutorial for downloading fanfic so it could be opened in Word like it's forbidden knowledge absolutely floored me.

Felt very overwhelmed this morning at the prospect of packing up the rental. Was here for a month and I brought a lot of baking things. But I did a very intentional job packing when I left. Everything has a bin, a tote, a spot in the suitcase.

I'm reminded once again that it's not that I dislike cleaning. And truly I actually might enjoy it?¿ It's the emotional/mental load of having to making choices about stuff that doesn't have a place. What to toss, what to keep, etc.

Moved onto meal prep for the week. Made a massive avocado salad, and prepped garlic, onions and mushrooms for whatever I end up cooking when I get home. Some kind of mince and veggies thing with tomatoes and a ton of chilli, probably.

Also mixed up some sugar free jelly and made it up with the rest of the frozen raspberries that I had to evict from the freezer due to space.

Having now eaten some of the avocado salad, I can confirm it's fucking lovely.

This year for Lent I'm going to try to vastly reduce my sugar consumption. I'm not daft enough to think I can give up free sugars altogether, they're in far too many things, plus I'll rebel. But I want to get my consumption down to under the WHO recommended level.

Thoughts and prayers very much appreciated on this one, because this is gonna be hard.

380 words today and am very sleepy.

Had to reformat my USB drive before it could handle the current size of the Ubuntu drivers, and now Etcher won't open. Tis a day. Partner's laptop might need to wait until tomorrow.

(Still not looking for advice, just venting)
