Both #Israel and #Iran have truly horrible leaders/governments, but it will be innocent civilians, that die if this escalates into a full scale war.

#Netanjahu desperately wants a war with Iran (why strike a fucking consulate otherwise), because indefinite war time is the only way for him to stay in power and maybe escape prosecution for #corruption . We can certainly not count on him for de-escalation.

They can just run some ActivityPub software that does not show any 3rd party content, including comments. So a one-way federation (except for stars I guess).
I am sure you could get some existing AP Software configured that way.

They cannot stop anybody from creating comment posts to their posts, but those would just not be shown by the gov server and need to be moderated by the origin server, not the gov server anyways.

The graphical debian installer will still ask you if you want a graphical user interface on the installed debian instance. But I think that step is after the one shown in the picture.

Did you specifically request the installer to overwrite everything with random data ?
Because I don't remember ever seeing that step, but I have only ever manually installed debian in VMs, so that may be different 🤷‍♂️.

    Viele scheinen schon nicht mehr daran geglaubt zu haben, dass der Mediationsprozess etwas bewirken wird, auf den ersten Blick scheinen mir die in dieser Email beschriebenen Änderungen aber sinnvoll.

    Das stimmt mich vorsichtig positiv, was die Zukunft des Vereins angeht.

    "Leading" can be interpreted in different ways, but it is not a factual error.
    Maybe it should have been worded differently because of the bad journalistic quality of BILD, but discarding the article because of that makes no sense.

    Peertube (https://joinpeertube.org) is to Youtube what Mastodon is to Twitter/other centralized microblogging.

    It is also decentralized with ActivityPub, that means you can follow Peertube accounts on Mastodon, but the experience is not the best, since mastodon is not made for video: If you want a Subscriptions Video Feed like on Youtube you'll want a Peertube account on some Peertube instance.

    To find content on Peertube you are interested in you can use this official search engine: https://sepiasearch.org/

    A good first step is choosing a peertube instance: https://joinpeertube.org/instances . Or you can just use the search engine and start by watching videos without an account.

    Trying to capture non-webfinger accounts/mentions or post urls (ex: hxxps://mastodon.social/@dansup) in captions on the app while handling non-fedi links and opening the browser is pretty challenging, if not impossible (unless you nodeinfo/webfinger every link before opening the browser)

    Probably not even worth it, but I'd like to keep fedi links in-app

    Ok @ivory users, I'm going to blow your mind:

    Yesterday I wished for a yellow-card/penalty-box on Mastodon (a temp mute/block). For those times when someone MIGHT be an asshole but maybe they were just having a bad day? Or because they are posting spoilers for your fav show for the next week?

    I know Mastodon has good filters buried in settings but I wanted a one or two click solution.

    IVORY HAS IT BUILT IN! On a user profile you just:

    1. Click the profile menu
    2. Click filter & pick timeout!
