Just got back from viewing a possible new rental apartment. Still a “basement” suite (😢) but it seems to have more light than the dungeon I'm in. Significantly more expensive (for the same small space) but laid out better. House and suite are both brand new and landlord is an “older gentleman" and his wife. Hopefully, they'll want to meet with me.

They might be willing to let me have a cat which means, I might be able to get Wallace to live with me again! ❤️

Back on the road to California. That means 📱connection is spotty, can’t often reply, but I try to read all replies & post news alerts.

I say this every time: Returning to US from 🇨🇦 is culture shock, meaning being confronted by Trump/religious signs, banners, billboards. It’s stomach churning.

It’ll be a relief to move permanently in late May.

Yes, Doomers, 🇨🇦 has its issues. So does every country in the world. But 🇨🇦 currently feels safer.

Well, there’s a bit of good news. Our union just got us a 7.75% hourly raise increase, retroactive back to October 1st, 2023.

Unfortunately, I’m only part time so I won’t get a whole lot but some folks at work will get a check for several thousand dollars.

Even better news - I just got called in to work for tomorrow at the reasonable hour of 1:45pm. And because Monday is a Statutory company holiday, I get DOUBLE time and the new wage! 😃
