I will command myself to return to studying since I am the boss of my time. 😺

For people wondering why it takes 23 minutes to get back on track after a phone call from a boss, it is not that people have issues multitasking. It is usually because the task given in the phone call is urgent and must be done right then and there, so everything else must be dropped (when, in reality, it probably isn't very urgent or necessary).

Employers are complaining that workers do not want to answer phone calls and would rather receive a brief text or other communication instead.

I don't blame the workers!

I hardly ever answer my phone, especially since almost every phone call is marked as "potential spam" these days.

It is much easier to read a text message in 5 seconds than have a five-minute phone call that could have been handled more efficiently with a text, especially if I'm out and about.

In my early working days, after moving from retail to answering phones on a multi-line system, I quickly learned that it was best to avoid anything related to phones since phone calls ate up the whole workday.

I also worked at a place where sometimes everyone in the office had to "go in the queue" to take incoming calls if there was a problem with the call center.

Those days meant no other work could be done until getting out of the queue since calls consume so much time and attention.

There is science that says it takes about 23 minutes to get back on track after being interrupted by a phone call (or something similar).

The folks complaining about younger staff not wanting to answer calls probably use the DND function on their phone system to divert calls to the attendant system or voice mail themselves.

I should be studying for my summer classes, but I'm watching YouTube.

A commercial for life insurance came on that said, "How can I pay mom's credit card bill?" now that she's dead.

Here's a trick the credit card companies don't want you to know: Don't pay.

If you die, you don't have to pay your credit card bill.

You don't have to pay mom's credit card if she's dead.

Go seek out legal advice since I'm not an attorney.

I noticed some local people trying to make an Opus Dei style podcast on YouTube.

Luckily, they don't have money from weird oligarchs to buy traffic to hype their strange discussions because their videos only get about 10 views.

@benfulton If I was a little paranoid, I might think that. Lol. I think my neighbor only hangs out with Tesla owners.

It's interesting that the folks who are against contraceptives (because they fear "replacement") are politically savvy enough to stay home and not vote for legislation because they know most people are against their viewpoint.

Will the current Supreme Court save us from political corruption?

I don't know if they will.

Justices heard the case of a Northwest Indiana mayor who wants them to find that bribes are tips for government services.

At the oral arguments, justice Kanavaugh asked if bribery is a sin.

I assume he'll pray to his golden god king, Donald Trump, and pope, Harlan Crow, for guidance. Maybe he'll join justice "RV" Thomas on a trip to a Crow getaway for quiet discernment.

Chaos at last night's Dolton Village trustee meeting when former Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot appears.

The trustees have asked Lori Lightfoot to investigate the village's finances after the FBI starts their own investigation of the mayor.

ACLU takes a look at Trump vs. Biden on civil rights.

Biden might not be the ideal candidate, but Trump will be a terror against the people he wants to hurt. 😭

Whenever I think of Trump's probation, I think of him having to find his way to a 1950s-era office building with a fading fallout shelter sign in the hallway, 1970s green Steelcase furniture, and half of the fluorescent lightbulbs flickering overhead.

When he leaves, he will be carrying an official form that he'll have to have his supervisor at Goodwill sign to show that he has done his required community service hours.

I love the phrase, "the officer was accused of being former U.S. President Donald Trump's probation officer."

It just fits this era.

The citizen was accused of paying her taxes and living a crime-free life, something frowned upon by the Trump gang.
