I think I have a thermal issue on my Octoprint Raspberry Pi.

@fmartingr

You're not supposed to mount the RPI directly on the heated build plate. ๐Ÿ˜†

But in all seriousness, 65โฟ C isn't half bad for a CPU/SOC.

They're calling it "Wynsdey," which makes me wonder if the Addams family is somehow involved: Manjaro Linux 24.0 "Wynsdey" Officially Released with Linux Kernel 6.9 - 9to5Linux https://9to5linux.com/manjaro-linux-24-0-wynsdey-officially-released-with-linux-kernel-6-9

You can also get a Tata Nano for the equivalent of $4k in Rupees, but that does not mean you'd want to actually drive it in the U.S.

Hmmm. Tusky's not on here. Has any of you tried any of these? I haven't heard of any of them (but, of course, I haven't really been looking): 10 Best Free and Open Source Graphical Mastodon Clients - LinuxLinks https://www.linuxlinks.com/best-free-open-source-graphical-mastodon-clients/

I use @Tusky on Android, toot and @tut on the command line, and either the mastodon web interface or https://enafore.social or https://elk.zone for #GoToSocial instances.

Half my kingdom for a Signal client that works on ARM (and no, I'm hella not going to compile electron on my pinebook, get outta here, lol)

I've tried Axolotl via flatpak, but it just crashes on start with some kind of (oh gee) electron error.

@thepmofam

I haven't tried it recently. I'm on Armbian, so stuff might be out of date, but I'll see about giving it a try.

The problem is that AFAIK, the signal APK expects to be on a phone.

I'm not sure if it can be used as a second-class client like the desktop app.

I still need to read your Kobo review. It looked really interesting.

I got my grandma's first-gen Kindle DX. The 3G network doesn't work anymore, and it doesn't have Wifi, so I have no way of clearing her account or adding mine, but I can still sideload.

The battery doesn't last but a few minutes, though, so I might see about replacing that.

It would be neat to have a large-screen ereader, even if it's kinda bulky.

I'm too warm for hot tea right now ;)

Basically, I asked them for a refresher (their non-carbonated soft drink, or what some countries would call a "sherbet" (e.g., kool-aid)) without sugar. Since their mixes all have sugar, they brewed a passion tea, added for me, and gave it to me iced.

Otherwise, I'm all for hot tea. But not if I'm already feeling warm ;)

So... don't tell @amin that I stooped to drinking iced tea, lol

For audio editing, would this have any advantages over Audacity, which is what I use?: LosslessCut - swiss army knife of lossless video/audio editing - LinuxLinks https://www.linuxlinks.com/losslesscut-swiss-army-knife-of-lossless-video-audio-editing/

RL_Dane,
@RL_Dane@fosstodon.org avatar

@BrideOfLinux

Sure thing! Being able to rearrange A/V without having to decode/reencode it is really neat, though. They deserve major props for what they've been able to accomplish so far.

I'd love to see audio editing that happens purely in the frequency domain. It would be almost like lossless editing, as (AFAIK) you'd be tweaking the already-lossy-compreased values, rather than decode -> edit -> encode.

I'd love to see an editor smart enough to edit a compresses audio stream directlyโ€ฆ

RL_Dane,
@RL_Dane@fosstodon.org avatar

@BrideOfLinux

...but I know that's a BIG ask, and would require extensive research and re-writing to support more than one codec.

RL_Dane,
@RL_Dane@fosstodon.org avatar

@BrideOfLinux

Yeah, it's just usually a matter of one of the following happening:

  1. A company decides to develop it and for some reason releases it as open source
  2. An open source nerd with lots of experience in audio and codecs gets REALLY bored one day and/or miffed that there isn't more lossless editing tools... ;)
