Call me stupid but why dissolve parliament and call for a general election when the people you try to stop is gaining power?
I am not versed in French politics at all, but isn't Macron literally handing over power in one of the most powerful nations in the EU to fucking Nazis by doing this?
Shouldn't the logical thing be to consolidate power, wait as long as possible with the next election and instead try to rebuild your voter base?

Social Democrats stays as the by far largest party with 24.9%
The Conservatives end up at 17.6%
And more surprisingly the same trend as in #Finland but less extreme, the Left-Ving party gain 4.8% and end up at 11%, almost doubling it's votes from last time.
